John & Susanna Tecklenburg has moved Bar Bar Black Sheep to the rustic farm life on the Oude Wellington estate. Here they continue their cooking journey with fresh local source ingredients. Country style cooking at its best. Some BBBS favourites & more. Warm hospitality to give the extra touch to make Bar Bar Black Sheep guests feel special. We welcome you to follow us back to the farm. After all, sheep belongs on a farm.
Very nice and easy going restaurant just in front of the famous Royal Hotel. Very tasty food and friendly service. Place to be in Riebeek-Kasteel!

Simplicity, imagination and quality of produce are key at The Royal. Head chef Francois du Toit (La Colombe, Manna Epicure) believes that food should be honest. If you say tomato it must taste like tomato, if you say fillet you should get the best our country has to offer. This philosophy together with the use of modern equipment (such as the use of Sous-Vide and Pacojet) results in creative but unpretentious dishes with "taste" as main ingredient.
Had the pleasure of savouring the Royal’s beer battered Kingklip & Chips on their shaded patio overlooking the neighboring vineyards. Our meal was faultlessly executed and is a winner! We enjoyed a bottle of Allesverloren Pinotage Rosè from their extensive wine selection.

Cafe Felix is a beautiful French Provencal styled restaurant in the picturesque Riebeek Valley. Imagine peaceful, lazy afternoons, sipping ice-cold wine under graceful 200 year old oak trees, eating sumptuous fresh country cuisine with a hint of French country music gently playing in the background. Every now and then, the ever-smiling Host extraordinaire, Malcolm, will check on you to see that everything is as it should be. That is Cafe Felix. A little piece of heaven nestled in the exquisite Riebeek Valley, filled with olive groves and rambling vineyards, and surrounded by awe-inspiring Mountains. Only 50 minutes from Cape Town, you could be there and back in a day, but rest assured you will return wonderfully fed, completely relaxed and your life enriched.
What a GEM we found. Cafe Felix is a beautifully manicured and romantic venue.
We were met with a cozy fire in a boma at the entrance. Our waitress, Junay, was knowledgeable about the wine selection and extremely confident in her recommendations...also bubbly and humorous along with her cousin Alicia.
We shared the fish cake starter (delish!!). For mains I had the Pork Belly and my husband the Lamb Rack. It was pared beautifully with the locally produced Mlineneux wine. Amazing food & wine and venue!! Thank you.

We stopped in here with the intention of just having a quick look and ended up eating a really wholesome family-style meal of very good quality. We sat outside on the 'stoep' in the shade but with a gentle breeze blowing to keep us cool. We found the meal a little pricey but it is still well worth stopping off here to break the journey. A clean farm stall with friendly staff and some really nice food.

Country, family Italian Restaurant with thin base pizza, homemade pasta and chefs specialities i.E. Risotto, lamb, banting options available.Decor:Rustic shabby chic.Produce:locally produced and sourced.
We ate lunch on a Saturday afternoon and chose the pizza option ,my companion although not a child had a "kiddies pizza" which frankly if you weren't that hungry was sufficient .I went for the more ambitious offering a con pollo, which I found to much mainly because of the amount of mayo on the top.The lasagna was popular with other diners and I didn't catch one complaint. Quiet spot with dining inside or out. Great coffee.

Good service and good food. We enjoyed the Rib Platter, which offered a lovely variety and the ribs were delicious. A pity they only had one local beer i.e. Bat Piss from Garagista Craft Beer Brewery were on offer.
