Samantha's Seafood & More Restaurant offers all the freshest ingredients. Every dinner is made to order and we pride ourselves on exceptional food and service.
The stuffed shrimp exceeded expectations with fabulous flavor and tenderness. My husband enjoyed his baked stuffed cod with the same flavorful stuffing. Both meals included baked potatoes and coleslaw. Nautical decor is crisp and clean complement to fresh seafood. Tried the sweet Italian sausage on another visit and relished the perfectly prepared peppers and onions on freshly baked torpedo roll. Outdoor picnic area and Hershey ice cream make this a perfect summer go to for meals or treats.

Our family was in Newport for a wedding. We heard about this awesome beach bar and decided to check it out. The entire staff was amazing! They were all super friendly and accommodating to our large group. The food was great and the outside area w/corn hole and ring toss made it that much better. I would totally recommend going to this "family-friendly" bar if you are ever in the Portsmouth/Newport area!!! Our only regret was not being able to stay for the band.

Dined here after a couple of years absence on a friend's recommendation. Hubs had Shrimp Alfredo (lots of shrimp), and I opted for the Half & Half Seafood plate - fried clams & bay scallops. Both were good, although there were more fries than seafood in mine for $24. Service was efficient.

Iâm kind of surprised this place is still open, because it was nothing to write home about. Sure, you can sit by the water while you wait forever for your name to be called over the loudspeaker. But depending on âmarket priceâ, you might be paying $26.00 for a lobster roll that consists of a plain, untoasted bun with a small, plain blob of lobster plopped inside. Clam cakes appeared to have very little clam inside. I will say the calamari was good, but I can get that anywhere. All in all, despite the fact this place has been there forever, there are plenty of other tastier, classier places in the area, and probably at a more reasonable price.

Recent had dinner as a party of six with three adults and three children. Service was prompt an attentive. Menu had many options from oyster and shellfish, to fish, to meat and poultry. Also great diversity of portion sizes from appetizers, to sandwiches and entrees.

If you love greasy, oily seafood; this is the place for you!I ordered the fishermanâs platter, and it was a lot of everything seafood, fish, calamari, etc. my wife ordered the baked scallops, and it was much better than my fried fish. Another problem is the ordering system... fried stuff from downstairs, baked food from the bar, upstairs!!!Seating is very casual, suitable for the name (shack)

Visiting friends in Little Compton - this is one their local favorites - we agreed! Menu had plenty for my vegetarian husband and it seemed that the kitchen was flexible to adjust (sign of fresh made food). I enjoyed reasonably priced oysters and loved my Haddock entree - really light and flavorful. We indulged in 3 desserts for the 5 of us - chocolate cake, sticky rice, and ice cream with huckleberry sauce - all delicious!

The setting, the view, that's all terrific. The food was very good, not great. A couple of things left me less than excited as this was my first visit there. First, we were offered a table "on the covered terrace". The fact that it was immediately next to the bar as well as a table of ten was not mentioned. It was very noisy. Yes, I and the rest of our party are no longer young and therefore find the noise level more objectionable than we would have many years ago. However, the lovely young lady at the reception podium should have, I believe, been conscious of those factors. Anyhow, we survived and I was having images of a nice baked two pound lobster like the one we get at Bay Point in Quincy --- also with a nice water setting. BUT, when I asked about it I found out the lobster was a 1 1/4 pounder I lost interest. I think they call them chicken lobsters, but whatever it is called I would call that size totally inadequate. Oh, and the very nice hot rolls didn't reach us until almost when our dinners came out. So, pluses and minuses, but I doubt that I would take the hours ride it was for us again.Hi Murray300,Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear your visit did not exceed expectations. We wish we were made aware of the noise level at your table and would have done everything we could to relocate you to a quieter part of the restaurant. Our baked stuffed lobster is one of our most popular dishes and we hope you will join us again in the future and give it a try. I'm confident you will not be disappointed. We are a seaside, American restaurant with stunning views of the Sakonnet River. Available for dine-in or takeout. Water views on both sides, outdoor patio, in-house catering, live entertainment in beautiful Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Food is consistently good, friendly service & generous portions!Tonight we sat outside on the patio overlooking the Sakonnet River seeing as it was such a lovely night. Our server, Ashley, was super sweet and very friendly! Hubby and I each started with clam chowder. I had an order of steamers (very good) and he had fried calamari with banana peppers & a marinara sauce (very good as well).

We had a beautiful corner table overlooking the water and outside deck. The service staff was friendly, fast and efficient. We shared a shrimp cocktail appetizer and the shrimp were so big that it took two bites to eat them. We both had the grilled swordfish and it was cooked to perfection and seasoned with pepper and lemon. The orders came with a good-sized salad, choice of starch and choice of veggies. The fresh bread was served with a nice, seasoned oil. We were too full to order dessert but the menu looked very inviting. Their wine list was surprisingly varied and reasonably priced. The wait staff found that perfect mix of checking on us a few times, but not to the point of distraction or annoyance. Cristina was our waitress and she did a great job! I would definitely eat here again!
