Reviews on Pub food in Narragansett, Rhode Island, United States. With four of the state's most popular beaches, Narragansett is a favorite summer destination of Rhode Island residents. Scarborough State Beach alone has 2,325 feet of sandy beach frontage. Once a wealthy community rivaling nearby Newport, the rich history of Narragansett is still visible. The Towers, spanning Ocean Drive, is the only remaining section of a luxurious casino built in 1883. Having survived numerous fires and vicious nor'easters, The Towers is the town's most enduring landmark.

Two couples went here for supper at the beginning of summer. When we arrived there was only one other table occupied. The menu selections are typical pub fair. Meals were fine but nothing special. Our server was very slow especially considering there were so few patrons.

We from Block Island around lunch time on a Friday and were in the mood for Oysters, Steamers, etc... and selected the Wheel House Tavern based on its location and menu offering. Our lunch selections were chowder, steamers, and oysters on the half shell complemented by a few glasses of cold beer. Food quality was very good as was the service. One disappointment was the inability to purchase the "Shuck fo a Buck" advertised on a chalk board near the bar because arrived @ 1:00 p.m. and the started @ 3:00 p.m. We were the only two people in the restaurant and the bartender missed a great opportunity generate some goodwill by letting us take advantage of this special.

Rented a beach house the first week in August that was walking distance to this bar. So Thursday night at 9:10pm after leaving dinner we decided to get one last drink on the deck at Hammerheads. We walked up and saw people sitting at the bar but found the door locked. Walked down and decided to give BonVue a try (I had been to Hammerheads in the past) upon walking in there was the worst smell and it was very dark and dumpy. With only 2 other people sitting at the bar you'd think the bartender would be happy to see 4 people walk in- but NO! She was miserable. Was rude taking our drink orders, then actually reached across the bar and threw out drinks that were not finished, that were on coasters in front of us! When questioned about it she offered no apology just asked what the drink was, and sat another half drink down and walked away. Ummm, think you need to find another profession sweetie. Would not return again.

It's been awhile, but I decided to pop in tonight while on my own. May revisit sooner than later. Service was good. Stuffies were very good (more Quahog than stuffing) and best I have had in quite some time in the area. Had a philly steak cheese wrap that was solid with excellent steak fries. Love love love the PBR drafts for $2.25 still!

Flavor profile was right on! The smoked salmon flatbread had the perfect balance of flavor. It was taco Tuesday- of course you order the tacos. The tuna taco was outstanding. Tuna was seared to perfection, topped to perfection.Wish I discovered this restaurant earlier. Thanks Harriet! Better late than never!

We stopped in for dinner one evening and was seated immediately. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. We were asked if we wanted bread and we declined. The appetizer came out promptly and so did our dinners. With our dinners a basket of naan was delivered and not thinking anything we enjoyed it with our entrees. The bill came and we couldn't believe it but we were charged for the bread after we had declined it initially. This is a shady business practice and not professional. To cap everything off my husband was sick in the bathroom all evening after our meal. We will definitely not be going back here ever.Thank you for you feedback. We are so sorry to hear about the inconvenience happened to you, please Give us a call on the restaurant number and we can talk more about it . Again million apologies from ourside, Looking forward to talking to you .Manojraveendrannair Owner

We went last night to celebrate an Anniversary. Red chowder terrible--tasted like watery tomato juice and hardly any clams. White chowder was very good. Clamcakes very good. For entrees, Dad's burger was overcooked (he asked for medium and got well done), Sister's/Mom's shrimp scampi was just okay and kind of watery. 5 large shrimp on top of the linguine. Hubby's panko breaded fish and chips delicious. My haddock overcooked and everything on the plate was lukewarm, especially the broccoli, which was cold. I didn't send it back as it would have disrupted everyone's meal. And at $19, expected better.

I've eaten at PJ's a few times in the last few years. We dined here tonight because power was out and, other diners had the same idea. Our dinners were really tasty. Every. single. table. was full, and yet the servers handled the crush of patrons effortlessly. As soon as one table emptied, the table was bussed and 5 minutes later another party was seated and a staff was attending them. Our food came out quickly, and the food was really great. This may sound silly to note, but their french fries were en pointe! I lived in Europe for 8 years and I am totally a fry snob, and theirs were delicious. If you haven't been to PJ's in a while, like us, I would totally recommend you give them a try again.

Spending a weekend in Warwick with some friends (excellent location right near Narraganset and Block Island Ferry) and decided to try out The Mews. Turned out to be a great choice. We walked from town area and entered through the closest door that led into a bar, you can eat there, but it was a little loud as we sent into the main restaurant to see if they had a table. Well let me tell you, this place is a warren of rooms and even with signs pointing toward the host station, I was turned around a few times. Just before I reached the host station, I passed the bottom of a flight of stairs that brought you to a separate Irish Pub. We were seated near the open kitchen that made the brick oven calzone and pizzas. There was an extensive wine list, craft / draft brew list and specialty cocktails to chose from and the menu was varied and ranged from standard pub fare, entrees, BBQ, pizzas and flat bread. My wife and I shared a nice salad and a special pizza (chicken and balsamic) it was delicious. Desert available, but I do not know how anyone would have room, unless they started with it. This is a great place for a casual meal and drinks with friends or family - open late so a late day back from Block Island fits perfectly
