Located in the heart of Cochem, at the tail end of where the sightseeing road train stops, is the Kebab/Pizza/Schnitzel serving restaurant, Acar Grill. When we visited the town was packed, but still no one was dining here and all seats were empty, so it was a very risky choice, but we were time limited and hungry. We ordered two pizzas and the hunter's schnitzel, which comes with fries/chips. We spoke German to the staff, so didn't test their multi-lingual abilities, but they were friendly. Our meals were served quickly, the thin based pizzas weren't the best quality, but were generously sized considering their low cost,. The schnitzel was good, served with a tasty sauce, and the fries/thin chips tasted good. In our haste to eat I neglected to check for Wi-Fi, but can report that there are clean toilets for patrons to use, which saves spending 50¢ per person in the town centre. I suspect this restaurant does the bulk of its business at night, for those seeking a late night kebab, but don't be put off by a lack of custom during the day, the sight and smell of our food attracted quite a few customers by the time we left.

Having been rudely rejected by another Italian restaurant just around the corner we were pleased to find the Pizzeria Pomodoro doing a roaring trade close by. We were lucky enough to find a table in the crowded interior (it was too cold to sit outside) and we were soon being served by a very busy, efficient waiter. Two of us went for pizzas and the third person in our party had the mushroom risotto. I had the "Inferno" pizza substituting the onions with gorgonzola cheese. This was no problem at all and it was delicious. This is a no nonsense sort of a place. The waiter was pretty grim faced as he coped with the demand. We only later noticed a young lady who also seemed to be on the staff and whose job appeared to be to arrange the few tables and chairs in this cramped place. If you want simple Italian food in a slightly hectic setting on a busy afternoon then you can do wrong in coming here.

Hubs and I had a lovely dinner here. It is a about a 10 minute walk uphill from the square but absolutely worth it. We were seated without a reservation. The inside is wonderfully quirky and looks like a cellar. We split a terrific salmon dish (one of the specials). Service was excellent. I highly recommend a visit!

We found this little Italian restaurant next to our apartment in Klotten Germany. Having arrived to late to find a grocery store to cook for ourselves, we decided to try Da Giovanni's. The World Cup Soccer Playoff's were going on, so there were many there enjoying the food and the playoffs. The owner, did not speak English, but had a waitress who could help us with the menu and so we ordered. The Cheese tortellini, and the pizza were wonderful, but the hot bread with the galic bread were out of this world. We went back each evening just for takeout orders of the bread and butter. Such a wonderful treat to find this restaurant in such a small village.
