âMamma Miaâ or better Mamma MARIA! what a nice restaurant. Top quality in Gerolstein!! Donât let the stairs to the restaurant keep you from visiting it.With the help of Tripadvisor we have found this fine Italian restaurant which easily would have fitted amongst the best restaurants of Europeâs major capitals.As you can read from other review I have visited several other fine restaurants. This one is definitely one of my favorites.A lovely menu with all the well known pizzaâs, spaghetti, macaroniâs, scaloppes en fish disher. All prepared in an open and clean kitchen served by the friendly staff.With three âflyfishersâ we had the tasty Spaghetti Matriciani, Spaghetti specialty from the chef with Tuna and the schrimps in garlic oil. Accompanies with some drinks and finalized with good cappucinoâs. Total costs 45⬠Top quality for a fair price!

After a long drive I was feeling both peckish and lazy. I had been at poseidon before, a few years ago and I had very good greek food. This time I wasn't in a greek state of mind and I did what one never should do, ordered food from a different kitchen. Simple food, but I have seen it ruined. Just a Wiener Schnitzel with french fries and a simple salad. The greek knows his wiener schnitzels. I was very tasty. The greek also knows his french fries. Nice and crisp. Not greasy at all. And his "kohlsalat" was simple and tasty. He smuggled there though, put an olive on top.The service in this restaurant is "Service". Friendly, accommodating, speedy. And you are made to feel very welcome. At the end there is the glass of ouzo on the house.This restaurant is a "must go" for anyone in the neighbourhood of Gerolstein.

The Schwarzbrennerei is centrally located along the road through Gerolstein. There's much free parking space around the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the dishes fresh and well prepared. They also offer local seasonal specialties like aspargus in spring. The schnitzel i had was great!

We were there twice, and had no complaints with the first visit. However, on the second when one of us asked for ketchup for the French Fries that came with the meal we were unexpectedly charged for two small packets. This drops a restaurant in my book. Other restaurants in the area had larger packets of ketchup and did not charge extra. So just on principle we will not return.
