Mediterranean pleasure in the restaurant Esslibris Zweibrücken. Chef Jürgen Süs spoils you here. Whether romantic dinner for two or family celebration, in the conservatory of the Fasanerie you are guaranteed right. In the Esslibris we serve a casual top c
Located in the Romantik Hotel Fasanerie in Zweibrucken, the Esslibris restaurant is one of the best restaurants in the greater Kaiserslautern area. The meals are high-end ingredients well prepared, but not molecular gastronomy for 50-75 euro per person including some wine. The steak tasted like good American steak and is cooked medium rare (rare in this part of Europe, although I'm sure they will cook it more done on request). Service is a little better than usual for this part of Germany, although still a little slow by American standards. White table cloth, nice silver and glassware. A fine dining experience. There is a very pretty outdoor patio with table and chairs during the warm months and I here they have a great Sunday brunch.

I ate here last week with fellow workers while visiting Zweibrucken. This restaurant was a 5 minute walk from where we were staying. The food was good; I had the paprika schnitzel. It just wasn't anything to write home about. The service was slow. We were a group of 10 people and it was over an hour before we all got our food. I was overcharged for my meal and had to explain for almost 10 minutes that I had not drank 7 beers; I had two bottles of water. I've eaten at worse places but I've also eaten at many better places.

We've recently been here for my goddaughters christening. We've been sat in a separate room, so that we could celebrate without being disturbed. We had our own waiters, so that (in theory at least) there was always someone looking after us.Unfortunately this was not always the case. Glasses had been filled, but somehow the waitress seemed to miss out on the ladies and only re-filled the guys glasses. But other than that it was a pleasant afternoon.Food was good, even though portions were a bit on the small side, especially for the guys. Not sure it is worth the money, but it certainly was good.

The "Pfälzer Hof" is a well-established and deservedly appreciated restaurants in Zweibrücken, located outside the city center in a residential district. Easy parking in the space in front of the restaurant or along the street. The place is attractive in summer with its small outside beer-garden; in all seasons, the cosy and tastefully decorated interior sets a fine atmosphere for casual dining. Staff is very friendly and professional, with a warmth and humor typical of that region. On a daily basis, both a la carte and menus of the day offer a fine variety of regional and traditional dishes, most of them accompanied by big salads. The servings are abundant and nicely arranged on the plates.Service is effective and kind. For the Christmas Day lunch, it was slightly disappointing that neither the traditional goose or duck were on the menu; on request we were told that these dishes were not on demand these days. From friends, family and the company this time, this was defininely negated: we all would have appreciated these very appreciated dishes and had come just to enjoy them ! Instead, we had a nice deer ragout with "Spätzle" (a special homemade regional pasta), but the pear in red wine to go with it was forgotten...- bu arrived towards the end of the meal. No compensation offered :(In general: good and tasty food, but the menu ought to offer highlights on special occasions (like Christmas). Appropriate price level; very attractive menu-of-the-day price. Good value for money.
