Weinbistro,Restaurant, Familien,-Firmenfeiern, Events bis zu 80 Sitzplätze im Restaurant 60 Sitzplätze im Bistro und 120 Sitzplätze im Garten
Sat down here at 8pm on a Saturday evening. It was quite busy. It was difficult to get attention, you had to chase a waitress rather than them coming to you.Ordered drinks, starter and main course. Drinks came fairly quickly. Starter arrived at 8.30pm. Then we sat until 9.30pm with no food. We were sat next to a group of 4. The 1st diner had finished his meal before the 4th diner had got their food. At 9.30 I asked where the food was and I was told 'We only have a small kitchen'. I don't class myself as a business genius but the obvious answer is have less tables. Waitresses seem to be coming out with just one plate at a time.At 9.40 after waiting 1 hour 10 minutes for my meal, I paid for my drinks and left.Wild horses wouldn't drag me back there.

We were on a coach trip to Germany for the Christmas Markets and one of the excursions was to Alken Mosel. This trip was mainly for a wine tasting visit, we don't drink much wine so we didn't participate, instead we had a walk around the town. It was quite a chilly day so we popped in for a coffee and cake at the Burg Cafe, a MUCH BETTER choice than the wine tasting. As with ALL German "Backerei" (Bakers) their choice and quality of cakes is second to none, as was their selection of chocolates (of which we purchased LOADS !!!)This is a very large restaurant because I think it forms part of the dining facilities for the ajoining hotel. We were greeted by a very helpful fellow, who escorted us to our table where we decided on and was served our refreshments, these being excellent. There is a road running along side the Mosel and the Burg Cafe is on the other side of the road, so in the summer you could sit outside and view the river very easily. If you visit Alken, this is a must visit !!
