As non German speaking tourists (first night in the country!) communicating was "interesting" as we tried to navigate our order with the very friendly staff of Chinagarten - who were clearly not of German origin!!Lahnstein seems like a very quiet town, situated on the Rhein river. We therefore were surprised how busy the Chinagarten was on a Wednseday night. Clearly a popular venue. The staff were very friendly and when they determined our language of comfort, provided a menu in English. We ordered with little problem and our dishes were both excellent. As we were in a hurry we had jasmine tea and coffee to finish and the only issue we would have was that both were too hot. Otherwise an excellent evening meal. I even had a fortune cookie with my coffee! Can't remember when I last had one!

Where to eat Diner food in Rhens: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Zeker proberen.

Sushi Bar pirates has been recently opened in the Koblenz area. Unlike most 'japanese' restaurants in Koblenz and indeed in the region, it is actually staffed, owned and run by a Japanese husband and wife team. From atmosphere, the restaurant has been established in what was a bar, and still has the original bar and even bowling alley in the cellar. The restaurant is however very modern / chique in appearance which suits the cuisine very well.We visited on a Sunday night, and we tried several of the recommended sushi platters on the Menu. The fish is of excellent quality and as good as we've eaten even in Duesseldorf or Frankfurt. We also had edamame as a starter, and miso soup with our meals. All in all, it costed about 15 euros a head.We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to eat japanese in the Rheinland-Pfalz or Nord-Rhein Westfalen areas.
