This place is new in town. An old building has been renovated with lots of passion at its best, the mix between old a d new is great. Many different little rooms to chose from and even the nenne is not so big, the food is very high standard due to the fantastic cook they have. You will not regret coming here !

The quality of food that I have eaten at Ludwigs goes above and beyond. I have eaten here several times and everytime is extradordinary. Try the goat cheese salad, the white tomato soup, or the lemongrass and scallop as a starter and anything on the fish menu is a win. Excellent wine and schnapps selection, mostly all from the best local winemakers. The atmosphere is a bit old fashion to some, but is elegant and holds true to the local area. The truly excellent food at Ludwigs is only be outdone by the service. The restaurant is run by a married couple and they and their devoted staff are dedicated, polite, friendly and accomidating. A wonderful dining experience for half the price and twice the quality that you would recieve from most restaurants in Trier. It's best to reserve.

This restaurant is excellent! We went with a group of 11 and it was no problem. The atmosphere is great. Wonderful decorations and clearly the owners are avid orchid growers. The food is excellent! Try the Vulkan with blood sausage! Or any other more common dish. You won't be disappointed. The cook made up a nice vegetarian meal that was not on the menu. It is located right near the roman boat so easy to find but not on the main road thru town.

I agree with previous reviewers. This is a hidden gem. The food is amazing (a lot of seafood), a wonderful terrace out to the Mosel, reasonable prices, and a very elegant atmosphere. I was stunned when the owner of the restaurant asked us, after having seated us, how our children are and if our son had learnt to walk (he was a newborn when we visited the first time) - the previous visit was one year (!) ago and she could still remember our children, their ages and even exactly where we were sitting during our previous visit. Friends had dinner at this restaurant based on our recommendation and were just as satisfied as we were.

Delicious pizza served in beautiful surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. They were accepting of two young children despite the fact they kept trying to play in the water feature. Bizarrely, the waitress brought them colouring sheets and pencils at the END of the meal when they really could have done with them while they were waiting for food. The pizzas were huge and very tasty. A childâs sized one was plenty for a 2 and 4 year old to share with some left over. Desert looked delicious although we didnât try it. Great service and quick too.

This is a great spot in Trittenheim, easy walking distance from most of the accommodations in town. We had the wiener schnitzel with salad and chips. It was the best schnitzel we had in Germany. Reasonable prices too (around â¬12).

Nicely situated with a view of the Mosel river and the vineyards on the other bank. Decent restaurant with quite an extensive menu. The rumpsteak is very tender and tases deliciously! Especially in the summer this restaurant is a good destination thanks to its terrace.

Just picked this place by chance after strolling around the village. We are definitely glad that we did. The meal was great value and enjoyable and while sitting at the bar afterwards for a couple of extra drinks, we were engaged in conversations with friendly locals and staff, despite being non-German speakers. Very welcoming place.

We veisited the Lekker after having reserved a table - I believe we got the last table! The restaurant is modern with accented lighting and spaciously furnished. We were a party of four and were seated at a corner table. We all commented about how comfortable the seating was. The food was very good. We were served with an Amuse Gueule which included shell fish - as I have an allergy mine was quickly replaced with an alternative. The asparagus soup was served hot, creamy and tasty. Our main courses were equally tasty, hot and very well presented - the potatoe ringlets were particulary clevery cooked - crispy and well spiced.I can highly recommend the Lekker to any visitors in the region - one should be sure to book a table though. restaurant étoilé dans le guide Michelin
Thomas Schanz has held two stars in his family run restaurant since the end of 2015. The two stars are well deserved, and food is top notch. Were it only for the food, I'd give five stars. The tourelle de foie gras, the Atlantic hake, the red label pigeon breast, the lamb from Wales, all were full of flavours and the ingredients of excellent quality. My daughter had an a la carte starter of frog legs which she also liked a lot. My wife and I ordered a cheese course instead of the menu dessert - this was good but not outstanding, and I have had better brie de meaux, crottin and livarot before.Service and the choice of menu and/or a la carte dishes was not flawless. The restaurant called me 4 days before the lunch date and asked whether we (a party of 6) would opt for a la carte or the menu. I called the restaurant the night before the lunch and indicated that we would select a la carte. I was put through to Mr. Schanz personally who indicated that we would have to choose from within the menu, except for our daughter who could choose a la carte. We did not quite grasp why this limitation was imposed, as we would have liked to sample the langoustine starter and turbot main course, both of which were not on the menu; perhaps it was because of Easter Monday, Monday being a day on which the restaurant is normally closed. Service itself was very friendly, but one waiter oddly failed to fill up the water and wine glasses of my wife and my mother, and failed to do so throughout the lunch. My wife found this very odd and in the end almost offensive. The red wine we ordered from the same waiter for the cheese course basically was served after the cheese course, after we reminded another waiter. When my daughter asked the waiter whether ice cream was available fore dessert, he simply said 'yes' and disappeared. The ice cream was later ordered from another waitress. The wine list is strong on German wines, and we had two excellent and fairly priced bottles from the Mosel region...
