We were at the highly recommendable Kunstweg in Bockenheim and got very hungry ... luckily we found that place. Although the waiter seemed to be very happy about us we got his full attentioned and ordered a set of things off the menu... all extremely delicious and as it seemed freshly prepared. Soup and salad: fresh and crunchy. Kinderschnitzel: with real chips and also delicious (a bit short on the tomato sauce - Ketchup).goat cheese with chili-sugar coating: extraordinary and so were the vegetarian dumpling and the meatball. The pudding was also very nice and the prices were OK.

Had dinner here at the recommendation of a local. You enter through an arched stone gateway into a courtyard dining area. We ate outside, as it was a beautiful late September evening. The service is good and the food is fantastic. Of course, the wine is great too! The atmosphere is the best, though. As it gets dark the lights twinkle on, and you hear only the clink of glasses and silverware, the murmur of conversations, and the local church bell every 15 minutes. Bliss!

We have been there after a short walk in the vineyards. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The menu was diverse and making the decision was difficult as everything looked nice. The wine list offers several local and also international wines which is rather unique in the weinstrasse. The service was very well done. So, for sure we will go back.

The Burgschanke Neu Leiningen is one of those amazing restaurants sort of in the middle of nowhere that loyal customers will drive hours to visit. Their signature dish is Ochsen filet am stuck, in which they bring the meat out on a slab ahead of time and everyone tells the waitress how much to cut for their portion. We've been going for ten years and the service and quality have been top notch every time. The steaks are on a par with any you would find in the best steakhouses in the world. You must order any sides and salad that you want additionally or all that will come is your steak!Reservations are essential as the restaurant is located inside of an old castle and when the weather is not great only a limited number of tables are available. The place is also nearly impossible to find, and once located, nearly impossible to get to. There is a parking area behind the castle but it takes nerves of steel to get into and out of. My recommendation if the weather is nice is to park at the bottom of the hill and simply walk. It is about an hour south of Frankfurt. One other important thing - they only take cash or an EC card. This is sort of a special restaurant that you will have memories of for a long time afterwards. One other thing - if you walk up the hill you will pass a restaurant on your left that might appear to be this one. The Burgschanke entrance, however, is located around the corner adjacent to the car park, and not easily identified. The other restaurant is on the side, closer to the cathedral.

In this (despite its name) very small village we was not prepared to find a restaurant of this standing. Just off the narrow sleepy street (Hauptstrasse indeed) this hidden gem served an exquisite and well prepared lunch, complete with a pre-dinner amuse-bouche and a delightful and tasty finishing tidbit to the coffee. Excellent!

Along the wine route of the romantic Palatinate region of Germany lies a sleepy historical town of Neuleiningen, where one has the feeling that time has stood still. It is a place of picturesque quaint houses, numerous flower boxes, centuries old fortified walls, cobbled streets (recommended for lots of walking) with not a single multi-storied modern construction in sight. It is here that the Hotel Alte Pfarrey (Old Parish) with it's one Michelin star restaurant is found. The restaurant, a large, modern well decorated Conservatory, is an added extension to the unique old Parish house, where the hotel rooms are located. We were a group of 6 going to this part of Germany to taste the wines of the region, and to dine at the " Alte Pfarrey " the one Michelin star restaurant which turned out to be an enjoyable experience in spite of unfriendly weather conditions during our stay there . Appended below are my impressions. FOOD : For the quality and portions we got, the prices were reasonable and not over-the-top expensive. Everyone who had the Trilogie of Goose liver with apple and brioche agreed it was excellent and so was the young local venison served with a hazelnut crust, savoy cabbage and pepper jus. As I am not a red meat fan, my dish was a crispy fried Pike Perch fish garnished with sautéed young leeks and a frothy Riesling sauce....very yummy!Desert was a selection of cheeses made from un-pasteurised milk with fruity bread. PRICES:Starters : 24-25 Euros,Entrees 18- 28 Euros ( portion smaller than mains )Mains Meat / Fish 36 Euros Desserts 16-18 EurosFor those interested in the Degustation Menu here are your choices :4 Course Menu w/o wine 76 Euros with wine 108 Euros5 Course Menu w/o wine 84 Euros with wine 124 Euros6 Course Menu w/o wine 92 Euros with wine140 EurosService from the start to end of our stay there, from restaurant and hotel staff was excellent.A last word about breakfast at Restaurant Pfarrer ( we stayed 3 nights there ) We looked forward every morning to the well presented, very good breakfast ( included in room price ) as it was a joy breakfasting in the well-lit elegant conservatory. If your want to give yourself a treat , don't hesitate ...GO FOR IT. It's worth every Euro spent :)
Top 5 Seafood food in Grunstadt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

This restaurant was a really nice surprise! The locale is very elegant and refined. The staff is super friendly and make your dining experience a pleasurable one. Their wine are from their own vineyards and are a must try!! I cannot give enough praise of their snails, which are farm raised on site. I was in the mood for a light dinner, so I had their salad and spinach dumplings. Both were amazing. My wife had a shrimp salad and enjoyed every bite! In summary, you should definitely try this restaurant. Ideal for a romantic couples dinner!!
