The Republic of Bashkortostan (/bɑːʃˈkɔːrtoʊstæn/; Russian: Респу́блика Башкортоста́н, tr. Respublika Bashkortostan, IPA: [rʲɪsˈpublʲɪkə bəʂkərtɐˈstan]; Bashkir: Башҡортостан Республикаһы, Başqortostan Respublikahı), also historically known as Bashkiria (Russian: Башки́рия, tr. Bashkiriya, IPA: [bɐʂˈkʲirʲɪjə]), is a federal subject of Russia (a republic (state)). It is located between the Volga River and the Ural Mountains. Its capital is the city of Ufa. We went to this restaurant for a family dinner and we were pleased with the variety of dishes on offer (sausages and mixed grill in particular). However, the fact that they serve food at different times - as and when it's ready - meant that half of the group were finished eating before others were served.
The interior was excellent, and a joyful waiter shared Scottish legends with us (not sure if some of them were from Braveheart)

My colleague and I were staying in the Bashkortostan hotel on business and didn't want to venture too far given this was our first trip to Ufa, and it was extremely cold. So we chose the Sherlock Holmes pub/restaurant, as it was near our hotel.
Before I write the rest of the review, I must say that we went back the following night as well, so this gives a clue about it!
The decor and atmosphere was great, just like a nice English pub, but without the lager louts we get at home! It is a bit smokey, but this is standard in Eastern Europe, but given how nice I found it I can forgive that.
There are no menus in English, but as this is primarily a steakhouse, it is generally pretty easy to order a 'rib-eye', strip loin' or 'chateaubriand' in any language. Our waitress didn't speak much English at all but really tried to help with what she could, taking lots if time when she clearly had many tables to look after, which was much appreciated.
The food when it came was very nice, I had steak 2 nights running, both very nice, and I recommend their pepper sauce to go with it as it was very nice. My colleague recommends the burger, and it looked great!
There is a good selection of European and British beers (although my favourite was 'Spaten' which is Russian). So plenty there to keep you occupied.
Overall this is a really nice place, and next time I'm in Ufa I will be back.

If you like Middle Eastern cuisine (kebabs, arabic mezze) and want to try Uzbek food (plov, manti) than it is the right place. As entertainment on week ends they offer belly dance show and life music.

INDOKITAY - is the true gem of Chinese cuisine!

being from the UK and a food lover, many Chinese restaurants fall short of achieving great food. However Indokitai has changed my opinion. Unassuming from the outside the staircase lowers you into a black and red fantasy of Chinese style and culture which flows into two distinct platform for guests. The food was very prompt with a smile and die sly staff. The food itself was definitely the best tasting I have had and I highly recommend.

This is a wonderful place to try Russian traditional food in Ufa. Do go for Посикунчики (Russian mince pies), Щи (Russian cabbage soup) and don't forget to try Хреновуха or Клюковка (home made Russian shots) - you won't be sorry!;-)

Went here for a lunch, as it was near to my hotel. Interior is very nice and extraordinaty, service was very polite. Ordered a steak with vegetables, serving was nicely setup and everything was tasty,except meat itself meat was overcooked and chewy - cheap beef.
Maybe other dishes are better?

Too many people smoke shisha which makes it uncomfortable for others, especially when you are with children. Concentration on younger people with shisha and cocktails made their food worse comparing to what it used to be.Hello! Thank you very much for taking the time to leave you review. If you are looking for authentic Bashkir food in a nice setting - that's the place. The restaurant specializes in oriental cuisine and there is a special Bashkir menu. Fresh salads, nice presentation, good choice of meat - they have dishes even with horse-flesh.
For dessert try the so-called "red cottage cheese" - it's really unusual and delicious.
One more inestimable advantage is that Duslyk closes late at night - 2 a.m. on Monday through Friday and works till 4 a.m. during the weekends.

The tuna salad was just an egg, a tomato, a bit of can tuna on the bottom. The chicken was ok, but the sauce and lecho was too spicy and not fresh at all.
