Gorgeous, Award Winning, 16 bedroom, family owned, country Inn. Conservation Village, beautiful gardens, dog and disabled friendly. Luxury, stylish rooms, great food served in relaxed lounge/bars or formal restaurant. Exclusive use available. AA Pub of the Year for England 2013/14, Good a Hotel Guide, Sawdays Special Places, Good Pub Guide, Michelin Guide, CAMRA
The accommodation at the Black Swan was comfortable and the staff very welcoming. The restaurant food was very good but the restaurant itself rather lacked atmosphere. The bar had a good selection of cask beers and was busy with visitors and locals . One major disappointment was the lack of a cooked breakfast option, which we hadn't been advised of. A lovely cooked breakfast is part of the joy of staying at a country inn.

Modern and beautiful lodge in a stunning location. We stayed in Rough Fell lodge for Easter. The lodge is finished to a really high standard with everything we needed and some very thoughtful extras. We bbq’d and hot tubbed lots! We really enjoyed the short walks to local pubs and the viaduct near Kirby Steven. Jennie and her team were very responsive. We had made our booking pre Covid and had rescheduled twice before finally making it. We loved it and will be back for sure. Thanks Jennie and team.

High Greenside Farmhouse B&B is ideally situated between the Yorkshire Dales & the Lake District. Ideal for those undertaking the Coast to Coast walk.
The view is fantastic, so lovely a quiet. First time in my life, I have seen a double rainbow. As soon as we get on the road leading to the B&B, I felt like in the movie ‘’The holiday’’, such a lovely relaxed feeling. The room was clean, nice and cosy. You have everything you need in your room, tea & coffee table with kettle, lots of different teas, coffee, hairdryer, tv, towels. Angela is a lovely and warm person. She made us feel very welcome at her B&B There is so much option for breakfast, and Angela was serving it every day at the exact time requested. Due to current virus circumstances, she has taken all the necessary steps to protect other guests and us. We have booked this place for three nights as we were working in this area. We are wedding videographers, so the idea was to work one day and stay two more days to relax. Unfortunately, the amount of work we had did not let us stay longer, and we had to return home earlier than we have planned. I wish we could stay there longer. We will return there one day for proper relaxation as the area is beautiful. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing place in a warm family atmosphere, this is your place to go.

We really liked our stay at the King’s Head. Friendly staff and good food in a nice part of Cumbria. The pub and restaurant area is nicely decorated and there’s an outdoor seating area overlooking the river. Rooms are good with the added bonus of being dog friendly. Good breakfast in the morning. Would recommend staying here on stopping by for dinner.
