Had a great time at San Vincente Resort this past weekend. Arrangements for our 5 families weekend were arranged by MaryLou who could not have been more helpful, friendly and wonderful. If I owned a hotel I would hire her in a minute. The golf course was in great shape, fair to most golf levels and senior friendly. We dined several times at the Oaks Grille/ Par Lounge and all in our party thought the food was great and servers were friendly and worked hard to make the customers happy. We all had a great time and will not hesitate to return next summer.

If I could give no stars, I would. We were greeted by a discourteous staff from the start who would barely take breaks from personal phone calls. When we entered the room, the fridge we asked about and were told was in the room was not there. The food we brought with us went bad. The Wi-Fi network didn't show up until we asked about it, then was intermittent enough not to hold a signal. The phone had no dial tone. The cable wasn't working. The remote was also intermittent. The blankets were thin enough to seem non-existent. Lighting fixtures were missing bulbs. The room is not what it seems in pictures. We had issues until about 10:00 at night, but decided to stay because we had four children with us. Regardless, the manager the next morning who declined to come out of his office would not issue a refund for our second night because they said we did not give notice. We told the young man at the desk the night before that we would be looking for a new hotel. They were uncaring and unprofessional. The only saving grace was the housekeeping staff, who were excellent. They are the only reason we could stay to sleep even one night I will be seeking further action for my refund. The room was not worth the rate they are charging.

The Riviera Oaks Resort is a great place to bring your family. We were two grandparents, mom and dad and two grandsons, aged 3 and 6. Much to do on the premises. Great heated pools (two) and a hot tub. The older grandson even got his first tennis lessons while we were there. Rooms are large and spacious and kitchen equipped with basic tools for cooking. Staff was wonderful and very accommodating! Our only complaint is that the units really need an overhaul. Our room had this musty odor, which I assume came from the carpets or maybe the upholstery. Everything was clean, but just seen better days. Otherwise, a perfect 3-day get away. Not much to do in Ramona, but drive out 10 miles on the Old Julian Highway and you are in the midst of gorgeous rolling hills and wineries. much fun.
