It is also the capital of Mrauk-U Township, a sub region of the Mrauk-U District. From 1430 until 1785, it was the capital of the Mrauk U Kingdom, the most important and powerful Rakhine (Arakanese) kingdom.

We ate here on two consecutive nights it was so good. We didnât intend to for the second night but the other restaurant we tried gave us an English menu that had no Burmese food on it at all despite all the local clientele surrounding us eating curry which was what we were after. Plus the lady was extremely rude so we decided to give it a miss and return to Moe Cherry. Indeed there are no prices on the menu (neither on the other restaurantâs) but the food is very good. We had a chicken curry and chicken and onions as well as mixed vegetables. They gave us a âpresentâ too of a pumpkin dish which was also delicious. Chicken dishes are about 6,000 and vegetables just under 3,000.Itâs popular and busy with both tour groups and locals. A great meal.

It is highly recommended restaurant in Mrauk U town. the restaurant is simple restaurant that located close to main market. the food was delicious and excellent taste. They serve better compare with other restaurants in Mrauk U town. I recommended in the lunch and dinner time to get best food in Kaung Thant restaurant.

My wife and I had most of our meals while in Mrauk U at this simple restaurant.The food was always good, safe for European stomachs, and the owner friendly.Prices are not written on their English menu, but if you ask they will tell you, be sure that this place was at least 30% cheaper than the other options in town !!!I recommend !

This restaurant is connected to the Royal Guesthouse.3 young people run this restaurant on a very unprofessional way. In the morning you have to wait till they arrive (too late) - breakfast could be better. You have to insist to have toast. No fresh coffee - only instant coffee (not even black coffee). Sometimes very loud music from the bar.
