Love this restrauant, the food is excellent. Especially a dish called "Ambres", probably not spelled right, but the dish is small pieces of beef, with mushrooms, bell peppers, onions and tomatoes all grilled together and then cover with shredded cheese on a cast iron plate. So darn good!!!

I love this little home town restaurant! Everything is very, very good but I usually have the homemade Chicken Salad Plate or the hand patted Burger. Regular fries and Sweet Potato fries are peeled, sliced and cooked only when ordered. If you are lucky enough to get there before they run out of the home made Cake of the Day you are really in for a treat.
The owner is very visible and may just come sit at your table to ask how your food was.
I have never been for the weekend evening Sea Food Buffet but from what I've heard it is fabulous!

The Royal Cafe of Quitman prides itself on good food and southern hospitality at its finest! We are glad to see new faces as well as the regulars who join us everyday! The restaurant which has been open since 1913 is full of history! Stop by and see us! We promise you won't regret it.
We were taking the back roads to Florida, because it gives us a much better sense of the places we are passing through, and the many regions of our country. We loved this place: I had the garden salad with grilled chicken and lots of sweet tea, and my husband had a hamburger and a soda. This place has been open since 1913, so it had many photos of the town and restaurant and it's people over time. We bought some bottled cane sugar syrup, a specialty of the area, and the waitresses and manager were charming and friendly.

This clean, friendly mom and pop, actually sisters, restaurant excels in food and service. My wife and I have driven the 50 miles from our home several times to eat their freshly prepared vegetables, fried fish, best- ever fried chicken, and other delicious food offered on their buffet. On Fridays at lunch they add fresh fried shrimp. They also have a seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights though we have never been to it. Great food, good folks, and reasonable price plus good, old-fashioned sweet tea!

While visiting a friend, we were advised to go here for the buffet of good Southern home cooking. The buffet had several different kinds of fried fish, beef tips, boiled cabbage, okra, mac n cheese, and a lot of other plain old homecooked type foods. And fried chicken. My mama died over 30 years ago and none of us have been able to recreate our favorite dish, fried chicken. The chicken today at this restaurant was my mama's. I must say the mashed potatoes seemed like instant and I didn't care for their hush puppies, but I didn't try another thing I didn't like. Thank you, Sisters, for taking me back on a little walk down memory lane.

We pulled over to this hole-in-the-wall (housed in what looks like an old Pizza Hut) to grab a bit to eat. The buffet was surprisingly good--much better than the usual Chinese-buffet fare. Everything was fresh and hot. The chicken with broccoli was particularly delicious.
I don't mean to mislead; this is fast food (paper plates, etc.), and it is all self-service. And the buffet itself is not particularly big. But the quality of the food was a nice discovery, and the price was fair. (In fact, the first 20 people who arrive for the lunch buffet get a nice discount!)
One downside--the only frozen dessert were lime popsicles. They have an ice-cream freezer, and it would have been nice to see a little more variety in that.

A surprise and delight to find a pizzeria smack dab in the heart of the disappearing south with authentic style NYC pizza. The sauce and crust are perfect! I've been twice and if I find myself back in the area I'll definitely stop back in.

We ordered 2 sausage biscuits and 2 bacon egg and cheese bagels with hash browns. All were very good, fresh and hot. Coffee was very good. Service was very friendly

My favorite food at Hardees is the biscuits. Others must agree because there's always a line of cars at the drive thru and plenty of people inside enjoying breakfast. I've noticed a good many friends make Hardees their regular morning stop.
