Mexican classics brought up to date and with a twist. Pleasant room, sparsely decorated, maybe a bit too brightly lit, but comfortable. The menu is short but has some surprising things...like crickets! Four of us shared two appetizers; the crickets and octopus tacos. Excellent and devoured in seconds. Our mains arrived after a nice pause...stuffed shrimp, a chicken mole and sorry, but I can't remember the others. Presentation was unfussy, classy and portions were just right. Unfortunately, no wine, but there are artisanal beers. Wine would have been better, though. Desserts were equally creative but we were all too full. For the four of us, the bill was around $100 CAD , before tip! Amazing for the quality. Lovely evening and lovely dinner...but we would have liked some wine!

Mexican-Mediterranean Fusion Food
Last time I visited Queretaro I wanted to try this place out but didnât quite get round to it. So this time I took the first opportunity and headed to Chamizo. Coffee and the ricotta and blueberry salad (see photo). Coffee was good but the ensalada was totally awesome (yes, salads can be awesome! Check out the photo!). Such amazing flavours and textures. Nice spot to watch the world go by too.
