The municipality seat, also called Amealco, is located 63 km southeast of Santiago de Querétaro. Its elevation is 2,605 meters above sea level, and the annual temperature ranges from 15 to 20 °C. It is one of the oldest settlements of Querétaro, being founded in 1538 by Fernando de Tapia (also known as Conín) and Nicolás de San Luis Montañez, who would also found the State capital.

No hay nada como comer un "Mole de Guajolote" con tortillas recién hechas en el comal, convivir en un ambiente familiar y sentir la esencia de la gastronomÃa de un pueblo de antaño.
Además de que el lugar está en medio de la naturaleza, y de fácil acceso por estar aún lado de la carretera, me gusto mucho la comida, el ambiente totalmente familiar. Lo recomiendo bastante!

Una señora abrió se sala y comedor, puso varias mesas y vende comida casera. TÃpicos chilaquiles, enchiladas, carne asada y sopa de fideos. Sazón insÃpido, comida sencilla y simple. Café ligero. Ella sola atiende y por ello es lento. Atiende mientras hace su quehacer. (Trapea, lava) No me gustó. Eso si, barato.
