Last Thursday my friends and I had a delightful meal at Thai on Ruthven for the first, but definitely not the last time! The service was fabulous and friendly, the food delicious, with some interesting, not at every Thai, offerings. I had the New Zealand salmon and steamed vegies with rice. Absolutely marvellous and something I have not ever seen at an Asian restaurant. We bought wine, but they are also BYO. I can't wait to return. As another Thai, nearby, recently closed, this could definitely become my new go-to for takeaways!!!!This is a sister establishment to the Thai on the corner of Bridge and Mary Streets. Great to see them branching out to the south side of town!!!

Venue is intimate but the favours are big. Whether you eat in or take away - great flavours menu. Street and on site parking available..busy at peak times. Friendly service and good value.

Scrupulously clean and neat, this relative newcomer is a welcome addition to the TBar CBD especially as new competition nearby is seeing closures in hospitality. We found the seafood and chicken larb very good. Of course there is so much more. The only downside is the very short basic wine list

This must be a secret tip. From the outside the place doesn't look like anything special. The same on the inside: Its clean and spacey but pretty ordinary in decoration and ambience; it blends in with dozen's of other downtown street restaurants. The secret is in the quality of the food: Its excellent ! The meat is tender, smooth and lean. The veggies are crisp and fresh. The rice just has the right amount of bite without being sticky and the souses just blow you away. The chef really found the right combination and amount of spices to make it tasty without being overwhelming. It has been many years since I had such a delicious curry.The portions are generous and the staff is friendly, if not a bit brief - probably due to their broken English. The service is swift. Prices are reasonable - not cheap but something you would expect from a downtown restaurant in a central location. Overall a AAA experience. Well done.

Nothing out of the ordinary but it is reliable, well located, well run with friendly staff, and popular. Good bruschetta for lunch! It definitely wonât disappoint

Iâd made a decent sized order and all the meals were bland and the meats were very rubbery. Chicken was tough, Vegetables were very soggy. The chicken and plum sauce was served up with no plum sauce so in the takeaway container it was just steamed vegetables and crumbed rubber chicken. The fried rice was tasteless and rice was clumpy. Wonât be going back. Waste of money.

Family dinner after recent trip to Thailand. Authentic flavours and very tasty. Service was rather haphazard but staff very polite and helpful. Love the Tom yum fried rice bbq chicken and Thai beef salad but all was good. Will be back!
