On Friday 7th June 2019, we bought three takeaway dishes from JK in Indooroopilly. Our order comprised a Lamb Biryani, and two curries, namely, a Chicken Balti (medium spiciness), and a Lamb Jardaloo Boti (medium spiciness). The Lamb Biryani was splendid. The lamb pieces were tender and well-marinated, and the cucumber raita complemented the biryani very well. Each of the two curries came with a tub of cooked white rice. The Chicken Balti cooked with onions and tomatoes had a distinctive spicy flavour. The Lamb Jardaloo Boti was slightly less spicy with a delicate flavour of apricots and tomatoes. All three dishes were quite enjoyable. Given our penchant for spicy Indian dishes, we were not particularly keen on the popular Lamb Rojan Josh or the ubiquitous Butter Chicken on their lunch specials, catered to Western palettes. Neither are we fans of the Glasgow-hybridised Chicken Tikka Masala. We fondly remember this restaurant when it used to be Ashoka Exotic Curries some decades ago. By and large the layout has not changed greatly from when we used to dine here as a family all those years back. Despite the somewhat tawdry appearance of the restaurant presently, we must say that the takeaways that we bought from JK were a delight to our taste buds. Well worth the long wait and given that that we were the only customers that hour.

Whilst many Indian restaurants serve dishes with pre-packaged sources - just visit any catering supplier to see the 5l butter chicken/ vindaloo sauces etc/ frozen Naan, this restaurant has actual cooking from scratch. The onion bhaji is particularly tasty - indeed all dishes were great with generous serves. Only negative was that the restaurant has no great atmosphere. The fluro lighting perhaps dhows the emphasis on the takeaway trade. Still worth the visit for dine in or takeaway.
Quixotic Indian is opened at the all sports shopping village in Jindalee. We are serving the traditional indian cuisines. We can alter the spiciness according to your taste like mild, medium, hot of extra hot. Have a meal with us and you will surely retur
I went to this restaurant yesterday and I have to say that it serves the best authentic curries and other Indian food in Brisbane. The curries are extremely well flavoured, spiced to perfection (you have a choice of mild medium or hot) and the curry sauce rich and thick - unlike the wateryslop you somtimes get served. Each curry is individually prepared. The naan that they serve is simply heavenly - fluffy, light and hot - directly from the tandoor- best I've ever tasted (and I have eaten naan in many places!!!). There are a variety of starters and platters - great somoosas, especially the vegetarian ones- all of which are yum!The service is friendly and helpful and staff made us feel comfortable - good service. This resturant offers great value - our meal (usually one starter to share, two curries and naan) averages at about $50. It is BYO. Once again best new indian restaurant in brisbane.

Lots of free off street parking. Smallish restaurant enjoying a good atmosphere. Allow a reasonable time for EVERY meal to be freshly prepared and cooked. Good menu, acceptable prices. Service most acceptable. Spotlessly clean. Overall a good experience. I would readily return to this establishment fior another meal.
Other reviewers either havent experienced really good authentic (north or south) Indian or the chef was completely off his A game.My wife and kids didnt finish 1/3rd of their meals.Lamb Vindaloo: Served in a somewhat spicy tomato style puree with a bland lifeless taste without a hint of vinegar, mustard oil cumin or anything else.Butter Chicken: The sauce was so thin it wasnt far off water. Not a hint of the heavy creamy sweet almond flavours of its famous for.Seekh Kebab: wow... terrible. All were so inconsistent in texture. One was wet and crumbled like having a mouthful of wet sawdust. Need I go on. Most of our meal saw the bin. My dog enjoyed the breads. The interior of the restaurant is just as rundown and in need of renovation as the fare. Sorry but nothing good to say.

7 Hills is a Vegetarian Indian Restaurant located in the heart of Kenmore suburb of Brisbane. We bring you truly authentic Indian Cuisine, guaranteed to satisfy your spice craving taste buds. We also offer Indian Spices & Groceries at adjoining premises.
I've dined here a half dozen times over the past year and the food never fails to please the palate. Seriously delicious. The dosas are extraordinary...just SO tasty. The eggplant curry is great and they do these terrific deep fried vegetable balls with a light soy type dressing that have to be eaten to be believed. This is an informal, friendly BYO restaurant. A nice place to go when you just want a quiet night- out eating good stuff.

I have a very close friend you must eat gluten free food. It comes down to Thai or Indian. So Thai one night and Indian the next. Sitar's food fits the bill. Tasty and gluten free. Win - Win. Most of the staff are Indian and having lived in India I can vouch for the authenticity and flavor. Only down side is it is designed for the Australian pallet. Their "hot" is really mild.
