stopped in while travelling around Milla Milla and Malanda area in Tablelands of Queensland a picturesque place with lovely different flavours of biodynamic homemade cheese and many other products can stop for a coffee or hot chocolate with a beautiful Outlook across the valley definitely a place to call in four and have a look stay for a little while or a long while rest up.
We stopped here and ordered two soy chai lattes. They came to over $6 each for a standard size and were made with milk (I'm lactose intolerant). The owner quite rudely and aggressively asserted that we hadn't ordered soy, and made it clear that she would charge us for remaking them. She was incredibly aggressive and wouldn't be challenged. We ended up tipping them out at the park across the road as we couldn't drink them. I had most definitely ordered soy, and thought the $6+ price included additional for soy, not for a simple milk-based, standard sized drink! The surly attitude of the owner and poor service at this cafe was just terrible.

Liked the look of this quirky cafe as we wandered around town. Ventured in and had home made pot pies - beef burgundy and a chicken and roast veggie. They were amazing - with a great side salad. Followed by delicious home made brownie and an orange cake. Good tasty food with super friendly service and really reasonably priced

The name has been changed and the food has been changed to reflect the great quality of the food. The servings are generous and the quality is great. Their salads are wonderful.

Operated by the 3rd and 4th generations of the Curry family, the Tea House at Lake Barrine has been offering delicious breakfasts, lunches, and cafe drinks, boat tours, and a beautiful view of the Crater Lakes National Park tropical rainforest since the 1
We stopped in for morning tea while visiting the Tablelands. The gardens and area around the tea house are well maintained and there are lovely views of the lake. The Devonshire tea was delicious, particularly the jam (you can buy the tea and jam which are made locally). I was a little disappointed at only one scone when usually receiving 2 at other venues. The tea is bottomless though. A great stop on your travels.
