Reviews on Japanese food in Kewarra Beach, Queensland, Australia including Kushi Yakitori Bar & Japanese Restaurant, Sushi Raft, Sushi J - Japanese Restaurant, Japanese Tea House

The restaurant is wonderfully decorated, located on the second floor with a balcony facing the beach. We had Sushi and Skewers options and loved both of them, very fresh with very good quality. Only downside is the very expensive Japanese beer (~14 AUD / 330ml). Well, I thought, it's a long way from Japan and at least I am paying for a good Asahi in Japanese quality, but was shocked when I saw that the beer was made in China. That mark-up is definitely too high and should be reconsidered.

Living close by, I go there quite often for a quick yummy snack.Staff is always friendly and Sushi taste good and fresh, but recently I noticed that the store needs a good scrub everywhere.Floor is dirty, table is sticky, windows have fingerprints on it, Napkin holder is rusty and dusty....the List goes on.I still eat there because I never had an issue with food, but I wish the store would be much cleaner.

Sadly I left it till my last week to try this place. Its small with only a few tables, typical Japanese I guess. The food was fast fresh and pretty good.I only ordered the main stream teriyaki chicken bento box came with all the usuals.Pity I did not come here earlier as I would have spent more time here.

Loving loving this place! Three Japanese stores, the tea house and the dessert house and a restaurant on the top of the market. We visited this tea house twice in a day! Cheap and tasty with Japanese decor, the waiter was nice as well. Good refreshment in Kuranda!
