The Bush Inn Bar & Grill Steak House is part of this wonderful old family-owned hotel, serving good honest straight forward food at very reasonable prices. It is naturally strong on steak, and its varied dishes are of high quality, well prepared and well
this place seems to be specialised in burning steaks. We ordered two of them, paid directly at the kitchen and asked for medium cooking. we got two burned pieces of meat, I had to cut off all exterior parts, in total 70 dollars drown away for nothing. And I told the staff that that the meat was uneatable . They simple cleared away our plates and never came back with an excuse. Ironically, this is known as the city of beef in Autralia. Shame on you!I am so sorry about your terrible experience at my hotel I can offer no excuses just my apology and I will be looking into this and passing on your review to my staff ... My family has been at the hotel for 27 years and we pride ourselves on Good quality food all the time. Thank you for taking the time to review and safe travels.

We had lunch here today and it was lovely. We had been looking for a good value counter meal and we were not disappointed. 200 gr rump steak with a large baked potato, plus coleslaw AND dessert - Total =$13.50!!!! The Victoria Tavern is an old pub that has good value meals and friendly service. Totally recommended by us!

Went to Ribs and Rumps Rockhampton last night. Somewhat disappointed. Paid $32 for a steak which came with a smattering of coleslaw, pile of cold mashed potato only. Other veges cost $7 as sides. I wanted my steak medium to well done but was medium at best although tasty. Service good atmosphere reasonable. Will try elsewhere in future as this is far too costly for what you get.

The whole place is well set up, sleek and modern. The staff are lovely, the menu is varied and there are good specials.I had barramundi fillet with half a moreton bay bug and char grilled prawns served on cauliflower puree and asparagus. It was cooked to perfection and at $29, the price was reasonable.

Appeared to be a bar, but the menu looked interesting so after checking out other venues offerings came back and were not disappointed. Decided to share 2 entrees and then finish with a pizza - we couldnt finish the pizza! Very generous portions and a large well layered meat lovers pizza had us chocka full. The calamari was tasty and cooked to perfection just lacked being served with some lemon slices, the chicken tenderloins again generous & well cooked with a ranch dipper. Could have been enhanced further with some light salad or a fruit chutney. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, but a little mystified as to target of the venue, with big screen TVs, cocktails and food, was unsure if its main line is its bar or cuisine?

Thought we would try the Texas Bar-B-Q platter. How can you not, it sounds fantastic.Smoked Daily selection of Pork Ribs, Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Smoked Jalapeno Sausage, Mac and Cheese Balls, Cowboy Beans, Texas Slaw, Fries, Pickles. But unfortunately, none of it seemed smoked. I couldn't detect any smoke flavour, and I didn't notice any smoke ring on any of the meats. Not sure if it was an off night or they'd ran out of actually smoked meat, but it really didn't seem like it was even smoked. That set the mood unfortunately, as somebody that really enjoys real BBQ, and Smokes often at home, I felt ripped off. With that said, all the meat was tender, some of it could have been slightly warmer, and with a little less sauce masking the meat flavours. The beans were fantastic. The chips, coleslaw, mac and cheese balls and pickles were also great. And the sheer quantity of food made it incredible value.I just wish the meat actually did taste smoked. Maybe it's time to invest in a large offset instead of putting a few chips in a commercial oven?Thank you for your feedback Yes the meat is smoked dailyIn six months this is the first complaint with regards to the meat not tasting smoked I will take up your issue with the chef

Good food and good prices. Humungous portions. It was recommended to us by a local who noticed us wandering around looking lost when we were trying to giure out where to eat.
Visited The Brunny for an early evening meal and chose the seafood basket. Had been missing having this as a pub meal option since The Kalka took it off their menu (it was always excellent). The staff and quality of the service could not be faulted. Clean dining area, family friendly, everything one would expect from this well established eatery. Unfortunately the meal did not meet our expectations. No one could say the portion sizes weren't adequate, oh my goodness our plates were over flowing. Sadly, the seafood selection was over cooked, greasy and lacking flavour. The meal came with chips, again a substantial portion but too heavily seasoned with what tasted like chicken salt and this was way too overpowering. Would we go back? Yes we would but we wouldn't pick the seafood basket again.

My family and I have been a regular to The Cri for years, but lately we have been very disappointed. The meal quality has gone down hill. And our greatest disappointment is that the best trivia caller on Wednesday nights has left. He was excellent and they just let him go. Great shame.
