A versatile mix of old-world charm and new age innovation, where the modern skyscrapers of Downtown dovetail into the gorgeous stone-facades of the 18th-century Old Port. Ripe with culture and green spaces, its diverse community populates chic bistros and designer boutiques, indulging in enviable coffee along gallery-lined streets and on waterside terraces. It is said that laughter and good times are fuelled by exquisite food. All of these can be found at Ferreira Cafe, Montreal's veritable ambassador of Portuguese cuisine. Warm and refined, while chic and relaxing, Ferreira Cafe continues to be a true favor
Really wanted to like this place and was looking forward to some Portuguese cuisine after just returning from Lisbon. Started off poorly as they were 25 minutes late in seating us (but that stuff happens on a long weekends). Service in general was not poor but rather indifferent: slow and things had to be requested more than a few times. The steak was pretty good but the signature cod dish was massively disappointing (and had multiple bones). After having so many great meals in Montreal (i.e. Liverpool House, Bouillon Bilk, L' atelier, this was a big disappointment.

This was a late night find, and turned out to be much better than we were looking for! Great menu. We enjoyed the gnocchi (stuffed with mushrooms) in a light cheese sauce, salmon tartare and a salad. We were seated at a beautiful round table (glass with a natural wood base) in the window, through which we could see the rain and wind from which we had taken refuge. It was a lovely experience, and I would like to return to sample other menu items.

I was in Montreal for a girlfriend getaway, already filled with good times and good food. My boyfriend and I snuck away for a romantic dinner to celebrate our anniversary at this beautiful establishment. What a great pick!! The food, service and ambiance were all top notch. The charming server was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious - we each had appetizers, entree and dessert! Portions are not overly large, which was a plus for us since we got to sample more food. Overall, it was a pricey dinner but worth it for a special occasion.

Restaurant espagnol situe dans le quartier Villeray a Montreal. Notre chef Marie-Fleur St-Pierre est reputee pour ses tapas raffines et inventifs.
What a surprise for this Spanish Tapas restaurant. The flavours, presentation and drinks were right on point. If you love food and enjoy sharing it with friends, this place will really offer it all. Ambiance was excellent, nice beats for background music and the selection of food fused with flavour just a party in your mouth. Everything was on the ball, service, the food, ambiance, and overall the deco. Definitely will go back!!

We dined at Vertige on our recent trip to Montreal. I read hundreds of reviews to find something local an interesting. Success. Vertige offers a great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff. An innovative menu based on traditional dishes. We started with the rice balls, foigras and Beet Salad. All well prepares and wonderful. Entrees of Boulibase and Duck confeit were very nicely executed rich and delicious. Desert was an lovely vanilla Creme Brulee. Over all the dining experience was really good and we felt it to be a good value.

To begin with, the name "Philinos" means "Friend of wine".Of course, any good bottle of wine becomes better, when paired with some delicious homemade style Greek flavors. I've been visiting Philinos since the early days, back in 1996. It is with no surprise that, where other restaurants have closed down all around, Philinos is standing still and continues a 20+years of tradition. Our dinner started with some cold appetizers that I am familiar from my hometown in Greece.I would recommend the Greek spreads such as the Tzatziki, Tarama, Copanisti (Feta cheese spread, a bit spicy), and the eggplant spread, Melitzanosalata, all of them homemade by Helen, wife of Chef Harry. When it came to hot appetizers, I wanted to order everything from the menu but, I was advised by my waiter Michel to try the Saganaki cheese flambe with ouzo, and an order of the Octopus, marinated with olive oil. The octopus was so tender, my friend insisted on asking for the secret in preparation! For main course, we opted for Lamp-chops and some prawns. to share.Lamp chops can be a gamble, depending where you eat them. Rest assure, when you order lamp-chops in Philinos, the satisfaction is guaranteed! A lot of people that I know avoid lamp-chops, they find them smelly and sometimes chewy. Well, not in Philinos. Here, the Lamp-chops are top-quality imported from New Zealand and Chef Harry ensures that are marinated with his secret recipe (he gave away one of the ingredients, he uses just a touch of garlic). The plate is served thick-cut potatoes cooked in the oven, the same way like my mother prepares them in my village in Greece. As for the prawns, they were Size 1, grilled on charcoal and served with a selection of grilled vegetables.Overall, by visiting Philinos you can't go wrong. Almost 23 after it opened up, the restaurant is still there, offering superb quality and excellent service in a nice Bistro atmosphere.Little secret: Sometimes Chef Harry comes out of the kitchen and seats at his favorite place, the piano. If you are lucky, you might listen to him playing his favorite tunes :)

I haven't been to Greece, I found this (La Maison Grecque) Greek restaurant in 39 years in Montreal, great! Satisfied with taste Environmental satisfaction Service satisfaction The decoration is very special, it has been opened for 39 years, it is estimated that it is more suitable for foreigners, and there are many foreigners when dining. Les Entrées Chaudes Fried Salmon (Calmars frits)! The color is beautiful and the taste is particularly soft and delicious! Greek grilled lamb chops (Bifteck de gigot d'agneau grillé à la grecque) This recommendation, the lamb chops are very tender and delicious, really unexpectedly delicious!

It is important to know that the co-owners are from Morocco and from Scotland. Tapas have been completely "reinterpreted" with a touch of Scotland there, and a touch of Morocco there... Portions are generous. Service is really courteous and friendly. I was there with 2 friends and we have all been stunned by this restaurant. It was way above expectations.

I was quite surprise by the portion of plates and the high quality of those plates. The service is simply perfect, open kitchen and we shared starters and main course with our friends. One of the best in Montreal, no dough. I recommend the chicken and the fish.
