My husband just picked up two orders of gnocchi with Gigi sauce. I was expecting the orders to have enough sauce to coat the gnocchis and be able to dip my bread in. The gnocchis were good and tasted fresh but barely any sauce. Not even a drop of sauce at the bottom of the container! Definitely a disappointment! Weâve eaten there before and always walked away full and satisfied, but not this time, sad to say.
Dined here at this recently-opened location, a former Laval resto transplant. Pizzeria Picante is certainly an asset to the West Island pizza scene: freshly-made, thin crust pies, hot out-of-the-oven tasty, in varying sizes. Choices of pies include the generic (Margherita, Napolitana, etc..) to the designer create-your-own. The salads were fresh, crispy and very flavourful. Portions were more than ample, and the prices were extremely reasonable. The wine and beer list were exemplary for a pizza resto, and the young gentleman who served us (with a smile) was professional, courteous, personable and attentive. In summary, Laval's loss is D.D.O.'s gain...will definitely be back!

This is a great place to dine, lots of room, great service, and excellent food, with gluten free options as well. The menu offers so many choices. The table d'hote is also a pleasant surprise offering a choice of about 5 appetizers, about 8 mains, about 6 desserts, and coffee, PLUS it is a bring your wine place. Highly recommend!!!

Went here the other night for dinner with another couple. We havenât been to La Serenata in many, many years and now weâre wondering why! The atmosphere, the service and the food were all impeccable. I had an excellent veal dish which had tomatos, eggplant and mozzarella on it. It was served with crisp carrot sticks, green beans and roast potatoes. My bf had the gnocchi in a marinara sauce which he said was delicious. My friend had the catch of the day which was haddock in a lovely white wine, cream and caper sauce. It also came with the same veggies as my dish. Her husband had a veal dish which came with mushrooms (imported from Poland, the menu said) and a nice light wihite wine sauce, again with the same veggies. I had a to-die-for tiramisu for dessert and my friend had a pistachio ice cream loaf that had a chocolate icing on it. I wish I could remember the name of it. Anyway it was delicious. Coffee was excellent also. We definitely wonât wait very long to return.

We were five people and none of us were impressed. Two of us had veal, and both were not good at all. The veal marsala had a pasty sauce that had too much flour and no taste whatsoever. The veal picatta was overly lemon and also pasty and didn't contain any capers (a basic ingredient in veal picatta). Also someon had salmon which was dry and overcooked and tasteless. The only items that were quite good were the salads. The server really needed more training. She was missing many basics, like bringing knives and forks to actually eat the food or glasses of water, etc. It actually amazed us how full the restaurant was and also a long line up waiting to get in. There was once a time when a restaurant had to serve tasty food to be successful. I suppose that has changed. The last thing to make mention of is how noisy and loud the restaurant is. It was difficult to have any conversation there.Sorry, but we will not be returning for another visit.

We could not have picked a better place to celebrate our 25th anniversary. This place has an amazing ambiance and food. The service and attention to detail was unparalleled. Let Daniel and chef Michael entice you with the house specialties. This is a BYOB restaurant which is a bonus, all you have to concentrate on is the food. Everything is fresh and prepared onsite. Even the bread is home made.Definitely worth the drive to St Dorothy Laval!

I had chicken and it was a little on the dry side. The vegetables were pretty tasteless. But the most memorable part of the evening was the noise level. We didn't have reservations on a Friday evening and the place was fully booked. We waited about 15 minutes before we were seated in the bar area. There was music blasting from loudspeakers mounted up high and so most patrons have to shout in order to be heard, which added to the noise level. With a full house and customers waiting at the lobby, one would expect service to be slow, and it was. An interesting epilogue was that the bar offered us samples of a new cocktail at the end of our meal. Unfortunately it was not very good.

This wa my third visit to this restaurant during the last 2 years. Great experience again: fresh and well prepared food, very attentive service, a bit pricey but worth it. We were a group of 8 people, we chose different items on the menu and everyone was satisfied. Personally, I had the lobster ravioli and it was excellent. Will certainly return.
