Four star French classic restaurant located in Old Montreal.
Wonderful experience, start to finish. Our server was attentive and professional. My wife and I had the onion soup which was not the crock of overly salted broth dripping with cheese that you get in the US. This was a wonderful onion soup topped with a large slice of cheesy french bread, served piping hot. My wife had the scallops and I had the grilled sole meuniere. Both dishes were delicious served with root vegetables on heated plates. They were skillfully cooked and artfully presented. Desserts were also delicious. I had the blueberry cheese cake and my wife had the chocolate mousse. Both were prepared with the right balance of flavors with sugar not overpowering the desserts. Overall, a terrific experience.

Located on Saint-Denis Street in front of the beautiful Square Saint-Louis, the Restaurant de lâITHQ has an elegant indoor space and a delightful outdoor terrace. In the kitchen, Chef Jonathan Lapierre-Réhayem prepares modern and refined seasonal menus th
We chose this place, based on the Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Another review explained that the staff are students. At the time of our visit, âschoolâ had finished and the staff were all employees, although many (if not all) had been students, under the previous regime. And they all came across as thoroughly professional.Opted for the 5 course tasting menu, but without the wine matches. However, our waitress (Valerie) had no hesitation in suggesting a couple of by-the-glass options. Started with a chicken liver pâté amuse bouche, which was very good and, of course, very rich. Then asparagus and courgette flower tempura, followed by something that escapes me, both courses being ably complemented by a decent rosé.The first main course was lobster gnocchi with seafood crisps, followed by guinea fowl, with roasted mushrooms, which we washed down with a Chiroubles Gamay. Two fabulous desserts (my wife is lactose intolerant, so was offered an alternative) rounded off a pretty damned fine dinner. The final bill as $190, so I canât quite agree with the review which says âfine dining, but not at fine dining pricesâ. However, we both enjoyed the dinner, which was conducted at a very civilised pace.

A wonderful experience, all around. The facade is deceptively unimaginative, since all the food inside is creative and beautifully presented. The menu changes frequently, but the selections are modest each night-- maybe five possible starters, and five main dishes. Half fish and seafood; half from the land. Vegetarian options also available. Nice wine options, as well as some not listed but recommended by the waiter. The desserts are scrumptious (again, a selection of about five). I had octopus as a starter, and the black linguine with seafood as a main. Portions are just right--you won't waste any of it, and yet will be quite satisfied. The service is personable and attentive, without hovering, and the food is prepared promptly but without any sense of hurrying you along. The place is busy! The interior is warm; the food preparation is visible. There is a taxi stand across the street.

Fabulous and imaginative food that was divinely delicious with good portion sizes. Over and above service, knowledgeable and well-informed wait staff. Wonderful sommelier whose recommendations paired perfectly with the food. All in all a great dining experience and we will definitely return on our next visit to Montréal.

The desert was unique and perfect. We loved this place. Pretty room, wonderful waiter and the food was incredible. I had the to-die-for piglet risotto with foie gras and the rack of lamb entrée - seriously the best food ever. My fr loved his food as well. We highly recommend this restaurant.

A restaurant in the eclectic cuisine, freely inspired by flavors and textures here and elsewhere. A mirror of Quebec, his memory and his mind open to the world and looking towards the future, and all that gives it a unique color
My wife and I chose the tasting menu. We went through 5 courses, each more interesting than the last. The service was quick, polite and friendly. The atmosphere was thoroughly enjoyable, with a terrasse giving on to the Plateau's trendy St-Denis street.

We came into Montreal for the Pokémon Go safari zone event. We knew we needed a splurge meal in a fancy restaurant. The bistro was fancy, but the staff make it feel homey and friendly and try ways to connect. Fluent in English and french (although we tried to read it at least). The 5 course + taster menu was fantastic. All 6 appetisers were fantastic, and the bison main and lamb main were lovely. Our favourite app was the salmon at 41 degrees Celsius. Iâd eat more of that right now (and Iâm plenty full from the meal).Definitely recommend. Do make a reservation as they arenât a large restaurant and were packed the whole night.

You would never guess how sophisticated is the food offered by this restaurant from outside. This was by far our best meal in Canada. Their tasting menu is sublime. We had problems with the service provided by the hotel where we stayed in Montreal and such bad experiences may give you the wrong impression about the city as a whole. So having had the wonderful service this restaurant's staff provided to us was a bliss and Montreal's redemption in our eyes. Muito obrigada!Thankyou very much for your comment ! we are happy to have offered you a beautiful evening! Do not hesitate to come back to see us

Everything about this restaurant projects a uniqueness that transcends the conventional, from the large windows that create a brightly lit, open air space, to the large green plants that give the dining rooms perspective, the bar that forms an eye-catching island in the center of the property, and a pleasant decor that can best be described as minimalist but elegant in its simplicity, all of it with a pretty outdoor terrace that spells Welcome. Nevertheless, it is the menu that caught our attention when browsing their website; mouth-watering, . . . a work of art, although the additional charge for bread looked out of place. We settled on the grilled octopus, very tender by the way, the seared salmon, the zarzuela, the ravioli and the European sea bass , served whole with braised celeriac and celery, seaweed remoulade cream sauce and caviar; exquisite and nicely presented. While the wine list is quite appealing, we would have appreciated a more extensive choice by the glass. The service was all smiles and very attentive. It is a good example of what can be accomplished when a group of dedicated people work together toward a single goal, that of making our visit an exceptional one, . . . which it was.
