Four star French classic restaurant located in Old Montreal.
Wonderful experience, start to finish. Our server was attentive and professional. My wife and I had the onion soup which was not the crock of overly salted broth dripping with cheese that you get in the US. This was a wonderful onion soup topped with a large slice of cheesy french bread, served piping hot. My wife had the scallops and I had the grilled sole meuniere. Both dishes were delicious served with root vegetables on heated plates. They were skillfully cooked and artfully presented. Desserts were also delicious. I had the blueberry cheese cake and my wife had the chocolate mousse. Both were prepared with the right balance of flavors with sugar not overpowering the desserts. Overall, a terrific experience.

Located on Saint-Denis Street in front of the beautiful Square Saint-Louis, the Restaurant de lâITHQ has an elegant indoor space and a delightful outdoor terrace. In the kitchen, Chef Jonathan Lapierre-Réhayem prepares modern and refined seasonal menus th
We chose this place, based on the Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Another review explained that the staff are students. At the time of our visit, âschoolâ had finished and the staff were all employees, although many (if not all) had been students, under the previous regime. And they all came across as thoroughly professional.Opted for the 5 course tasting menu, but without the wine matches. However, our waitress (Valerie) had no hesitation in suggesting a couple of by-the-glass options. Started with a chicken liver pâté amuse bouche, which was very good and, of course, very rich. Then asparagus and courgette flower tempura, followed by something that escapes me, both courses being ably complemented by a decent rosé.The first main course was lobster gnocchi with seafood crisps, followed by guinea fowl, with roasted mushrooms, which we washed down with a Chiroubles Gamay. Two fabulous desserts (my wife is lactose intolerant, so was offered an alternative) rounded off a pretty damned fine dinner. The final bill as $190, so I canât quite agree with the review which says âfine dining, but not at fine dining pricesâ. However, we both enjoyed the dinner, which was conducted at a very civilised pace.

Polish cuisine done to perfection in a great atmosphere. Chip away at basic Polish dishes or dare to try more interesting options.
Our first dinner in Montreal was at Stash Café, a Polish restaurant! I found Stash Café on TripAdvisor before our trip and we just had to try it. We stayed at the Hotel Bonaparte and the concierge got us reservations at 8 PM. Stash is only half a block from the hotel. We ordered a starter of four Pierogis; my wife had the Sznycel Mielony; I had the Krokiety; and we had a 500ml carafe if wine. Everything was outstanding, and what a great value! The total dinner, including wine, was only $71 CAD before the tip! (Thatâs only $54 US.) Stash Café is a great restaurant and a Must Try!P.S. The atmosphere is very quaint, with church pews at most of the tables. Service was terrific. When we arrived, the waitress asked us if we wanted to speak âEnglish, French or POLISHâ!

Fabulous food. Lots of choice for appetizer, mains and desserts. All have pretty presentation and taste great. You can turn a main course dish into a 3 course table d'hote for $15. They have a tasting menu at $55. Reasonable prices. Good portions. Nice presentation. Nice wine list. Lovely polite and friendly service. Bistro- chic décor. Parking available on street (maybe worse when there's fireworks- but then again once you're parked you can eat and then just walk out and watch the fireworks.) Also great place to view newly lit up Jacque Cartier. Place wasnât too busy. It should be packed based on our experience.Hi,Thank you so much for these amazing comments. We are happy to hear how much you enjoyed your time with us! We would be glad to see you again soon. Many thanks again.

The desert was unique and perfect. We loved this place. Pretty room, wonderful waiter and the food was incredible. I had the to-die-for piglet risotto with foie gras and the rack of lamb entrée - seriously the best food ever. My fr loved his food as well. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Friends took us out there for dinner during our visit to Montreal. The food was delicious; we all had items from the table dâhôte including soup and dessert. They have a great little patio, first come first served. Tip: bring your own wine.

Cuisine francaise et produits du terroir. Ambiance decontracte et service chaleureux.
Our experience may not be typical. Perhaps the waitress was having a bad day. Perhaps it is best to find another restaurant if you do not speak French. There are no English menus and the woman who seated us and took our orders did not seem pleased that she would have to translate things into English. There were many things on the menu that she did not have the translation for so we had to use translation apps on our phones. She was brusk with my family and we did not see much of her after she took our order. In contrast, the young girl who brought us our food and cleaned the tables was bright and kind. Although her English was limited (not as limited as our French) she helped to make our meal enjoyable. In further contrast, the food was outstanding. My braised beef was tender and succulent. The house made BBQ sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but my wife loved it. My wife's duck leg confit was perfect and my son's salmon was perfectly cooked.
