The food is always good, although it seems to be getting more and more expensive to eat there. We always order basic dishes and are never let down. Poutine, pizza, pasta and club sandwiches. They are also excellent for breakfast and brunch!

This is the little brother restaurant of the Cabane à Sucre du Pied de Cochon. The setting is really nice amid an orchard but also smaller and more personal. A few tables sitting 8 people with servers/cook running around the place. There is no wall delimiting the kitchen and you can actually get up and cook your bread on their oven amid the cooks, Lots of servings made with fresh ingredients and large portions. Great service and really fair prices considering the quality.

For Pub Grub, this is excellent. The food was great, served hot and in good time. The staff very friendly, and there truly is an excellent selection of beers on tap and imports. One of the few places where one can find Orval in N. America. Good location - close to parking. All round excellent!

We went to La Cabane dâà côté on a Saturday evening with our 12 yo so. It is, as I understand, a ârural spin offâ or âbranchâ of the famous Montreal restaurant Le Pied de cochon). The place was packed, so reservation is a must.It is located âin the woodsâ, but still with an easy access, and part of the lovely region of Saint Joseph and Saint Benoît, which is full of nice little hills and charming curvy roads (but not so hard to drive). The concept of this restaurant can be best described as: âa reinvented and - very - upscale version of the traditional French Canadian âSugar Shackâ. There is only one pre-determined set menu served to all guests, but everything is so good that itâs not a problem. They serve lots of food, I mean lots and lots of it, divided in many plates, but, contrary to similar restaurants these are not âsmall tasting platesâ, but, rather, each of them is a full-blown serving, in of itself, so I would strongly recommend to eat lightly during your meal prior to your visit. It is a truly gargantuesque experience. Every single plate was âvery goodâ, and at least two or three of them very simply âfabulousâ, including some of the best vegetables I have had in my entire 47 years of existence, including the last 12 or so during which I have had the chance to experience top level restaurants around the world. The service is friendly, informal and laidback, while still being attentive and top notch.Like almost anything else in life that offers such a level of quality, the end result, in terms of billing, doesnât come cheap, but it was well worth it. Once you account for alcohol, for the very high sales tax of the Province of Quebec and for a proper tip, expect a total bill, between 125$ to 150$ per person, or maybe a little less if you skip the more expensive (but exceptionally good) cocktails they offer.

There seems to be a problem with several different GPSs in finding this restaurant. Either the street (12,300 rue Chaumont, NOT rue DE Chaumont) or the postal code (J7J 08) is not in the GPS database. However, if you call the restaurant (450-951-9630), the staff will guide you there. Basically, you need to take Exit #28, and keep to the south. If coming from Montreal, you need to exit Hwy 15, and go SOUTH to the bridge to the west side. If coming from the north, just head toward the Petro Canada gas station, and the restaurant is visible from there. In any case, the appetizers and main dishes are satisfactory, but nothing special. They have a veggie appetizer(deep-fried cauliflower), but the tofu croutons were as hard and chewy as india rubber. The two fish dishes we tried were OK. The grilled cheese sandwich was very dry (overtoasted).

Family operated restaurant. Everything is good but my preferred dish is the Pizzaghetty, an all dressed pie with one inch of spaghetti on top with a side of french fries... so delicious. Not my usual food but if I'm around there at meal time I will stop for sure.

Seasonal Cabane à sucre (sugar shack) run by the chef as Au Pied du Cochon in Montreal.
Had an incredible time as a group of 4. had a Sunday night resso (8:30pm) and really made the most of it. hired a limo to and from Mtl, which is the way to go! who wants to have to drive home? Food, staff, and overall experience exceeded our already high expectations. Vickie our server was an absolute blast and made a special night even more memorable. Come hungry, but dont be too afraid to eat what they put in front of you. not everything saves / travels well so use your best judgement. Allergies and picky eaters will have a challenging time. Best enjoyed as a group.
