Things to do in La Prairie
I hate cooking so I am very lucky to have this traiteur near our home. Every day they have a different menu and new dishes to take out. It is French cuisine. I have used them also for a couple of parties at home and each time it has been a success. Everything is always fresh, tasty and elegant. The service however is always slow....

My wife and I decided to try this new restaurant which had been highly recommended by our son and his better half. Great surprise! Bring your own wine($5 fee), fantastic fries, Peruvian chicken, nice salad, Chicha Morada and the deserts... oh my... my... we split a suspiro limeño and it was out of this world! The 3 other featured desserts were looking equally irresistible!! We shall return!!Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff! The Peruvian chef came over to talk with us and she was charming. Nice decor, casual, cozy... great option! Love it!

This is not high-society eating. This is poutine: fries, cheese curds, and brown sauce (gravy) and hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.First: the poutine is great - if you need poutine and you're on the south shore, Monique has you covered.Second: the toasties are properly prepared: the hot dogs are grilled and the buns are toasted on the grill as well - condiments are generously and evenly disbursed.Third: the grilled cheese is a hamburger bun with cheese in the middle - in my opinion, a grilled cheese should have bread toasted on the grill, not a crusty burger bun - I won't order againThe staff are very friendly and the cantine atmosphere is as authentic as it gets.

We stopped here while driving out of Montreal, looking for a quick and casual lunch. You order at the counter then sit and they bring it to your table. It was kind of like the Canadian equivalent of a traditional American diner. Burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, and some Canadian staples like poutine. Our food was very good, and served fast. They only accept cash, but if you arrive without it, there is an ATM inside.

This was not our first visit and will not be our last. And the 8 friends we introduced it to loved it! Food is always fresh and enticingly presented. There is something for everyone from the heavily laden fresh fruit and salad table to create your own crepes and omelettes. Also includes the usual a such as a variety of breads, hot breakfast meats, etc.Service is always with a smile. And because they so only two services of brunch you are not made to feel like you have to rush. This is the first place we think of when we think brunch. Be sure to think well in advance, reservations are necessary and the earlier the better.

This is a regular stop for me and a top choice for a business luncheon. Quaint and cozy, the service is very attentive and friendly yet professional. The chef offers daily suggestions based on what fresh ingredients he can find. This time I had the magret aux bleuets et à la tomate fumée. It was exceptional. Cooked to perfection and a sauce that had been fussed over. My guest had similar compliments about his choice. A good wine list with all the right choices. Reservations are essential. Looking forward to my next visit.

Everything tastes great at this restaurant, from the coffees to their mouth watering sandwiches. I had a vegetarian sandwich made with whole grain bread with walnuts and pistachios in it, inside the sandwich there was pesto, red pepper, eggplant and goat cheese, just amazing. I would definitely go back to try their other sandwiches.

My wife and I had already visited the Como restaurant in Delson and decided to try this one which was closer. The french onion soup was fine but the chicken wings were small although tasty. The pizza was good but we preferred the one in Delson which was one of the best we have tasted. Service was good and the staff was very pleasant.

I had a hankering for Fish & Chips, which is part of my DNA,as it was a staple of my diet growing up in the UK. I normally get my fix in pubs around Montreal, but due to inaccessibility caused by the Orange Cones fiasco we ventured to La Prairie.Definitely worth driving the extra unimpeded miles. The restaurant had a family friendly atmosphere, which enhance the experience.I will definitely go again and bring some of my friends next time.
