Castizo Steakhouse

If you want a change from the Marina restaurants, Castizo is a good option. better to reserve though, as it's usually packaged with limited seating. The portions are quite large so better ask for advice. Some dishes could easily be enough for 2. Service was very good, and food quality was good.

Frequent visitors to Vilamoura we have missed this hidden gem. We pitched up at just after 1900hrs for a table for 6 and were one of the first to arrive. Sat outside in a nice covered area and brought drinks. Menu is good, not overly complicated with a good range of Mexican dishes. Service was a little slow but in fairness the lady did point out that they were 5 members of staff down. Food was freshly made, great quality and very reasonably priced. By the time we left at 2030, almost every table was taken and there was a queue forming at the door. Well worth a visit.

Read good reviews so thought we’d give this a go. Outdoor seats had what looked like mould on them - not appealing. Ordered vegetarian fajitas. They brought meat ones. When the right ones came, they were very bland. We thought we’d cut our losses and get dessert elsewhere. Maybe it’s just the veggie offering, but really not that impressed.
