Located in downtown Qualicum Beach, Lefty's has been crafting fresh food daily since 1996. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts (with many gluten-free and vegetarian options available), the restaurant features comfort food with a twist and seasonal specials along with a warm, welcoming ambiance and cozy tables. Lefty's now offers stone-baked artisan thin-crust pizzas with sauces made from scratch, blended cheeses and fresh ingredients. Or start your morning with a Lefty's local breakfast, made with free-range eggs, custom British-style banger sausages, house-made jam, hot sauce and fresh-brewed locally-roasted organic coffee.
We came here on our way back from Cathedral Grove and we were very impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The desserts looked fantastic and we ordered a slice of carrot cake for a late night snack. If we lived in the area we would definitely return. The perogie grilled cheese was delicious!

The Shady has been a local tradition since 1924!Come see for yourself why we're still having fun after all these years. Great food, friendly service, and a breathtaking oceanfront setting await. We look forward to serving you!
A location like this could easily rest on its view and not worry about its quality. Not the case here. Good food, lots of drink options and varied Seating. Average pub service but little to complain about. Recommended on any trip up or down island.Dear, Reviewer We thank you for your kind words and friendly recommendation to your fellow TripAdvisors. The Shady Rest has been *the* place to stop when visiting Qualicum Beach for over 94 years, and we are grateful for your continued support. Cheers, Shady Management

We were literally 2 minutes away from breakfast menu going to lunch menu, the cook and waitress kindly said that we can order breakfast, so we both ordered the Mexican eggs benny. We did enjoy our breakfast, thank you very much. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere had that nostalgic ambience with lots of photos of old cars. I would come here again.

When was the last time you walked into a room that wasn’t square? True, it would have been easier to rebuild than restore an old building. Chances are, you’d be sitting in a square room with much higher ceilings. But Qualicum would be missing a little bit of the past. A place that represents memories for families and friends that stretch back over three generations. Have a look at the floors, the ceilings, the pillars, and beams… and you’ll see why we appreciate all the designers and builders who helped restore a piece of the past and create this unique, round room and wedge-shaped lounge. Handcrafted food is our passion and seasonality plays a dynamic role in our menu. We take pride in serving delicious food done right, from preparing all of our meats in-house to making all of our own sauces. Working with fresh seasonal ingredients allows the natural flavors of the food to shine through each dish. We can taste the difference and we hope you can too!
2 years ago, I "celebrated" my birthday with awful burned mussels while wrapped in a blanket on the veranda of what should be the most beautiful restaurant on the Island. Last night, I "celebrated" my 26th wedding anniversary with 2 friends and my husband. "Failure" is not a strong enough word for the evening. The salmon and chicken were dry, my lamb was so tough I gave up trying to cut it and tore the little bit of meat from the chops with my teeth, my husband's beef ribs were absolutely revolting. When I complained politely about the chops, the waiter said "funny how that happens" and that was that. We paid $197. for a dinner I would not feed to my dogs. End of chances for CView in Qualicum.

Had heard good things about their Eggs Benny's, great selection of Benny's .. I went with the crab cake Benny. It was excellent.
Hollandaise Sauce was excellent and lots of it. Great shredded hash browns too, with green onions.
Very filling.
Great service.
They also had a Sunday breakfast buffet available but I'm glad I ordered what I did.

This was a return visit, although last time we ate here was at least 12 months ago.
On the recommendation of a friend, two people chose the fish and chips and one the chicken quesadilla. We had heard portions are generous, so ordered half fries and half salad. A good idea. Everything was well-cooked, fish batter crisp and appetizing. The quesadilla is definitely plenty for 2.
The restaurant is a gallery for local art and this adds to the interest of the dining area. Service is pleasant and timely. There is plenty of off-road parking.
We will definitely return as there are some nice walking trails in the Lighthouse Country area, and we live fairly close.

My wife and I have not been here for awhile, it has many good ratings but our initial experience was only 'average'. We went again as we were waiting for a flight, and had the fish and chips, salmon for my wife and cod for me. I started with a curry soup and it was delicious! Then came the fish, the covering of which was so greasy I almost sent it back. This is very much pub style but greasier than most. The chips were average. So sad that this is our second review of 'disappointment. Think I'll by pass in the future.

On a recent trip through the area we stopped by Bistro 694. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Quaint interior but very welcoming. Cozy but not over crowded. Service attentive without being overbearing. Menu choices varied enough for the discerning diner but not like Reading War and Peace!! Same with the wine list. The food quality was really top notch and affordable and oh ya when the server says the dishes are hot.....they REALLY are piping hot.
