Cosy and comfortable stay

Reviewed By Songwl

A very clean and neat accommodation with well equipped room. There is a common area for dinning provided with kitchen utensils and free supply of filtered driniking water. The entry of the property was secured with security digital lock. The owner is operating a sundry shop nearby. He is friendly and helpful. A comfortable and pleasant accommodation situated right at the centre of the village, highly recommended for all.

Pulau Ketam Inn

Basic room with toilet

Reviewed By keecheng

Booked a single room a night at Pulau Ketam. The room is very basic, with a toilet built in. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The toilet is very small, difficult to use the tap sink. Aircon was strong and cold. Luckily just a night.

Little Happiness is just as the name described it

Reviewed By WolverineXXX

The name is appropriate with the place. I was booked into this homestay/motel recently during a photography gathering in Pulau Ketam. When we arrived some of our members stayed at the hotels right beside the jetty and some stayed at Happiness motel which belongs to the same company. We however got the draw for Little Happiness and lugging my camera equipment, luggage and myself about 2 km to the house really gives you no happiness when you reach there. It is the farthest away from everything and downtown Pulau Ketam. Why do you still have a Little Happiness you asked? The "hotel" is clean and they provide a small lounge at the entrance for you rest when needed. There is a BIG kitchen at the back (shared) where you can have a 50 people dinner with proper place for preparation and washing. The shower and hot water works and the bed sheets and comfortable looks very nice. Most of all the air conditioning unit is superb BUT they attached the electronic card to your key (soldered to make sure you can't remove the key so when you come back the room is hot or warm (save money for the owners). The room is extremely tight and they fit 3 to 4 people in one room with 2 double beds, double deckers and double bed. There is NO wardrobe or cabinet to store your clothes (living out of your luggage). Imagine 4 people in 1 room with little room to move and luggage lying around all over the floor. There is one window and the view is to the window of the neighbours house. The TV works but we have no volume (don't know where that remote is) Towels provided are clean but has a smell that it has not been used for a long time. The bathroom is small and can hardly fit 2 people inside (You can do your shower and big business at the same time as the shower head is above your toilet bowl). Pros: The air conditioning is superb when it is one. The room and hotel is generally clean. They have a kitchen with proper utensils for eating (can have a big dinner or BBQ at the kitchen if you come in a large group). Relatively cheap during weekdays and slightly more expensive during weekends. It is quite peaceful and quite. No vehicle, people and other sounds. Cons: It is very very far away from the town and Jetty. The furthest hotel in the group and we booked about 6 hotels. None is further than us. The bathroom and room is very very small (kinda remind you of rooms in Hong Kong or Japan when land is expensive). There is nothing to see in front, behind and to the sides of the hotel. If you are not familiar with Pulau Ketam then good luck to you to find your way back to the hotel if you forget to memorise the route or make a wrong turn. All the houses looks almost the same. Conclusion: There is nothing much to see and do in Pulau Ketam. It does not represent your typical fishing village as it did 40 years ago. It is now like staying in a small town on the mainland. If you want to really see what Ketam was like then Sungai Lima (5 minutes away by boat) is the closest to old Ketam with a little new development. Little Happiness is for people that wants some peace and quite as well as exercise both physically and mentally (to remember the route home).
