Very popular among locals, at lunch time crowded, but very fast service. It's a real peace of history: an old workers cafeteria. Very cheap, I got main dish (fresh local fish + soup) for 6 EUR. Gourmans, keep away (all though food delicious), but nothing hipster or Michelin star-like. Still highly recommended.

I ended up there just visiting one of the Hiiumaa's Lighthouses. This Cafe is right next to Kõpu Lighthouse middle of nowhere. The menu was not big but good enough to give a variety to choose between fish, chicken or pork. It has a outside playground and picnic area right next to it so you can enjoy your meal and not be worried about your active kids.

Heltermaa Bar-Bistro is located on the ground floor of the Harbour building and it offers catering for groups and individual guests. The main focus of the Bar-Bistro is on making miscellaneous fish dishes. Food can also be ordered in advance.

Harbour cafe is very simple and offers traditional crap like fries, sausage, fish fingers etc. You can buy drink and snack, but avoid food. Maybe only if you have a hangover... :)

Four people were eating, two food were cold and two were raw! Raw ones were remade, but result was almost same. 2010 food was exelent in this restaurant.

Linnumae Café is located on the border of the City of Kardla and it is a good eating place for families and larger groups. There is a fish pool near the café where each guest can try catching a trout. You can have the trout made for you by our chefs on the spot or you may take it with you and prepare a meal yourself. Before or after the meal you can take a ride in Linnumae Holiday Centre.

Good food and service. Cheap "day dishes" between 12:00 and 14:00. Taste of food is good and natural. Close to the main road, just before Kärdla city.

This grill, at the start of the Saaretirp road in Kassari, seats up to 160 people in summer. In fine weather it is the perfect place to take a break and refresh yourself, making the most of the outdoor grilling area and Seating. Fresh fish takes pride of place on the menu, but you will also find lamb and other meat dishes.

The food is tasty but overpriced. The athmosphere is not very cosy and your stay depends on other clients - half drunken finish people make it very noisy. The service is not very friendly and waitress does not know what is exactly in the daily menu.

Rather ok place to stay, clearly above avarage for accomodation on Hiiumaa. Rooms are ok size(ca 19m2). Would defenately benefit from AC as the room stayed hot during the night although it was just around 25 celsius when we visited. Can't open the window for night as mosqitos get to the room.
A good thing is that there's a restaurant downstairs. A bit mixed feelings with it as the first dinner was really good and staff nice. The 2nd and 3rd evening, however were a dissapointment, we were waiting our food for about an hour as the 2nd night all our order was not understood(though I'm native in Estonian) and the 3rd evening my pregnant partner got very raw lamb burger. We asked another one that would be well done, but it turned out Even less cooked AS the first one.
However, good potential and pretty hipster and would recommend for a 1-2 nights.
Our 2 year enjoyed the environment very much as there is a boatyard just next door and a beach about 1,5km.

This has now become our favourite restaurant in Hiiumaa. This restaurant has improved this year in my opinion. Had lamb today and first time I have really enjoyed Lamb anywhere in Estonia never mind Hiiumaa. Not a big one for sweets but decided to go for Chocolate Lava cake and wow I was not disappointed. This is a chef that cooks with a passion just hope can sustain standards next year :)

Very nice place in new brewhouse Hiiumaa. At least tartar and dessert were excellent. Also, of course, fresh beer.
