Amazing local fresh seafood & Sushi! Daily specials with fresh local fish ! A large selection of vegan & gluten free options
The lunch entrees are all between $10-$20, even for basic items like a chicken curry. We got two drinks and two entrees and spent $45 for lunch, which was too much for the quality of the food. The green curry tasted like coconut milk (or the tom ka ga soup you can sometimes get at Thai restaurants)--super bland. The rice was too sticky and balled up in the curry. The fish entree was undercooked (though better quality than the curry). I was here about 10 years ago, and it was amazing, so I don't know if we just came on a bad day or if lunch here is a bad idea because maybe the good chef only works nights? I'd say avoid this place for lunch for sure as you can do better for price/quality elsewhere. And avoid the curry if mine was anything to go by--you're better off just buying a can of coconut milk!

We 3 had a tasty dinner at Mopri. My husband really enjoyed his grilled snapper and said it was not greasy at all. Our son liked his calamari and my fish burritos were tasty and plumb full with pieces of fish and avocado.

Traveling for almost a month in Costa Rica, by FAR(!) the best place we ate in.The atmosphere is amazing, our host was so helpfull and kind, the food was fabulous, the drinks were excellent, and the service felt so professional. We had guys coming in every few minutes to wipe the water coming out of the drinks on the table (not in a wierd way), always checking in with us, got a small treat from the kitchen as a desert since we were really full, and such a smiling host.. She made our night. The prices are reasonable for the food and overall value. this should be your first restaurant choice in the area.

A sensual dining experience for lunch and dinner. Food fit for jungle royalty. Exquisite gourmet delicacies for recalcitrant choosy tongues and stomachs.
We had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant but I believe we had bad luck the day we visited. A lot of the dishes in the menu, including basic sea bass and shrimp were not available. There was a limited amount of selections. The place is nice, great accommodations, the service is good but the basics of a restaurant were not present. There was a government workers strike for a month where the roads were blocked by demonstrators and all services were paralyzed we couldn't get many products including the shrimp and Sea bass which are from the Pacific Coast and come in refrigerated trucks. Everything was limited !

The restaurant is right in the centre of Puerto Viejo and was recommended by the owner of the B&B where we are staying. The ambiance was of reggae/ afro-Caribbean and the staff were super friendly. The rice and beans with chicken were excellent! Highly recommended and highly popular with tourists and locals alike

Ate here one night, atmosphere and setting was great, along with the cocktails but food not so.Mahi-mahi overcooked and seafood pasta had both undercooked or dead mussels (all closed) and a very thin watery sauce.

Small family owned restaurant in town. I don't thing there are any street addresses there.
Fantastic Gluten Free Caribbean Good! Showed them my GF food card and they suggested what I could and couldn't eat. I had the beef with onions - delicious! Rice, plantains, salad, YUMMY! Good large portions too! The plantains with guacomole were so good we ordered another.

The family goes to work to prepare fresh cooked food in short order. We had arroz y frijoles con pollo. The chicken was marinated, tender and falling off the bone. A hot sauce with carrots and onions iis served to spice up the beans and rice. We were warned it was spicey but not so for Nuevo Mexicanas. Want to return and try the camarones and the pie de Limon. Service was more than excellent. A little off the main road; look for the sign. Opens promptly noon.
