Breakfast bar and mexican cuisine.
We stopped in for lunch while walking through Puerto Viejo, and both the food and service were amazing! The owners source much of their menu from local, organic farms and it really shows in the quality of their food! I cannot speak to the accommodations, as we stayed elsewhere, but it was obvious from talking to the owner that they care deeply about their resort and obviously put a lot of love into the place!
Authentic Colombian cuisine specializing in home-made arepas served with your choice of toppings. Outdoor seating in our beachfront patio.
My husband and I were looking for a nice place to have lunch, close to the beach. We found this very tiny restaurant. The woman who hold the place is very nice. She comes from Columbia and served a typical meal: arepas. Which you can have in different versions: chicken, beef, vegetarian, etc. Very good! And it changes from the usual rice & beans meals :) simple quiet place next to the beach, with simple but good food and cheap prices.
Fresh and healthy world flavors served in a small dining area on a shady Caribbean beach. Garden seating with view of sea and wildlife (sloths, tree frogs, wood peckers and monkeys to name a few).
It was raining so we ran into Al Chile for dinner while it lightened up . Great service, beautiful energy about the place but I wasn't thrilled with our steak. It was really tough and hard to chew. But the ice cream was delicious! I would like to go back and try more!

The Point..A different kind of Sports Bar.Sure we have sports on all (6) of our T.V's all the time...and sure we have hot wings and (U.S.D.A. beef) burgers...and sure we have ice cold beer and micro brew on tap, but did you know that we have local Caribbe
Hubby and I enjoyed lunch here one evening in late July. My chicken quesadilla and onion rings were delicious and hubby enjoyed his burger. The outdoor roadside seating had limited shade but indoor seating was also available. Parking was available nearby. Good service, slow-cooked food, reasonable prices ($30 range, no alcohol). Credit cards are accepted for payment. We will return when we visit Puerto Viejo again!*Thank you for reading my review! Please click the âthumbs-upâ below. :)

Bar & restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily as well as late night plates until 2:30am. Nightly events such as live music, sporting events, open mic night, karaoke night, free salsa classes, and much more. In the heart of the town in front
There are so many choices in PV that itâs hard to recommend anything that is just average. The food was ok-nachos, burrito, quesadilla. Perhaps other items would have been more satisfying. Weâd been eating typical food for a week though so decided to try something different. The items were good but pretty bland. We added chicken to all three and it was very tasty but there were little bones that must have gotten chopped up with the chicken. Understandable but not very appetizing unfortunately.

Whether it be lunch and cocktails on the beach or candlelit dinner by the koi fish pond, Banana Azul's motto for our restaurant is 'Fresh & Simple.' We strive to only use fresh ingredients and try to stay away from processed foods. We also offer vegetaria
Hubby and I enjoyed dinner, and a take-out lunch, at Banana Azul in July when we rented a house nearby on Playa Negra Beach (reviewed separately) and it was recommended by the owners. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, great food, friendly service, free wifi, and reasonable prices. It also had a (free) locked and fenced parking area. We had sandwiches for lunch and for dinner, I had lasagna and hubby had mahi mahi. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our meals. We also enjoyed the soup and salad buffet at dinner. The total bill for dinner was about $50 and they accepted credit cards. The gardens are lovely and we returned during the day to walk through and enjoy the grounds more fully in the daylight. We enjoyed the koi pond that stretches the length of the dining area with its many fish and turtles. The garden had beautiful paths, plants, and trees. The beach area also looked beautiful, although we didnât relax there. We recommend dining at Banana Azul and will return when we visit Puerto Viejo in the future!*Thank you for reading my review! Went to Spicy Coconut on advice from a friend. From the minute you step into the restaurant you can see how inviting the dining room is with a view to the ocean during the day. Pictures of the food on wall look great. Ordered the patacones, and best we have had. We then both ordered a different dish, one a spicy curry dish, the other a popcorn chicken with peanut sauce. You know it's good when you eat all the fresh side salads. The crepe desserts were so good we both licked our plates clean. The food has a little Hawaiian taste which is so refreshing for this area. There burgers looked great as we saw one go out. The kitchen knows what's its doing. The wait staff is very attentive, which is hard to find in restaurants around town. Being a retired chef who lives here, so nice to have something so delicious, we will be frequent diners. So glad to hear you enjoyed your dinner here, William! Thanks for checking us out and taking the time to share! Next time try that delicious burger you saw ; ) Hope to see you again soon

I really enjoy stopping by Noa Bar, alone or with friends! The spot is beautiful, quiet, and private. Surprisingly, it doesn't cost anything to go in (with the expectation that you'll buy a drink or something to snack on). I love the smoothies and the spring rolls! Prices are pretty standard. The facilities are also very comfortable, with chairs and hammocks, a bathroom and an area to shower off the sand after a great day spent by the sea.Dear marissaconlasonrisa,We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with such detailed comment about your experience.Thank you for giving us high rating and for recommending NOA to others. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon.Kind regards,Luis SmithGeneral ManagerNOA Bar Restaurant Beach Club

We went to the Hangover the first morning in Puerto Viejo, and then had to go back two more times before we left. The location is easy to find but is far enough from the main road that you can really relax and have a conversation. Highlights for us were the eggs benedict and the egg tacos with chorizo, but the granola, yogurt, and fruit was also a delicious, less expensive, and lighter option. They also have a great list of coffee drinks to try. Definitely recommend adding a stop at the Hangover while in Puerto Viejo!

We had dinner at Soulsurfer and as weâre both vegetarian weâve tried the different veggie burgers with the wedges. I have to say these were by far the best veggie burgers Iâve ever had!! The location is stunning, right on the beach and youâre sitting with your feet in the sand while listening to the sound of the ocean. Michelle is super friendly, the food is fresh and goes fast and the price for the amount of food is absolutely fair. Iâll come back for sure!!!
