Close to Restauracion Park and to the American Embassy this typical restaurant on the upper floor of a traditional Dominican building is clean, simply furnished and quite. I came because suggested by local friends for testing lobsters. As a start ask for a fish soup or some other seafood appetizer for do not wait the long "island time" that you would never want. The average price is about $ 35-40.Don't buy meat.Bepi Olivieri
Me and my boyfriend just came back from our tour in Dominica Republic and there is many place to recommend there but there is one particular and it is called âLa Casa del Mofongoâ. If you visiting Puerto Plata and you want to try something good and tradicional from Dominican Republic you have to eat at there. You wonât find it in the guidebooks we had a chance to try this food because we knew the people that live at Puerto Plata. This is small, family food booth with delicious food and great atmosphere. They donât sell drinks but across the square there is a bar and you can also bring drinks with you if you prefer.Open hours: from 5pm so perfect for supper. Where: Plaza Popular in front of the Brugal (famose Rum Factory)

Iâve been in this restaurant 4 times already, I really love the great service they have and quality of food and drinks. When I heard they changed their chef I was scared, but the new one if as good (or even better) than the previous, he actually came to our table and told us his plans, he is an excellent chef and very friendly, his name is Vicente.Their cocktails are excellent too, I recommend their Citric Gin Tonic with Bombay Sapphire. And for meals their Grilled Octopus, Chefâs Nachos and tostones.

This is a highway stop that you should make of you want to taste local cuisine before or after hitting the beach!Service was excellent. Whatever you asked for you got without hesitation. When we got our entrees portions were plentiful! We were a group of six with a teenager and four adults and there were leftovers to take home for dinner. Some of the fried dishes we found a little bit over cooked but my fish fillet was very tasty and the rice and beans were delicious! There's also a great assortment of natural juices from which I would recommend the cherry juice.

This restaurant stop was predetermined as part of a day tour. I am glad this was the stop for us. The restaurant is in a lovely old house that faces a town square. The exterior is bright and welcoming. The staff are attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The food was fresh and flavourful (we were served: a chef salad with a clear vinaigrette that had such yummy flavour; chunks of chicken in a delicate cream sauce accompanied by white rice with red bean sauce; dessert was sweet potato with chocolate drizzle---it did not have an orange colour of the North American sweet potato but seemed the colour & texture of apple sauce). Since the meal was included in the tour, I really do not know the price.

A space that offers delicious cuisine, stylish atmosphere and excellent music to create unique moments.
My fave local restaurant near Parque Central in Puerto Plata. Absolutely love the huge projector and random music videos they play. The decor is great with wine barrels used as tables and the lights in the trees. The food is great and although the service is a bit slow the waiters are very nice. The prices are also wonderful and reasonably priced. Went to this restaurant 3 times in only 1 week and would definitely recommend to all of my friends and family.
