Take a cable car to the peak of Mount Isabel de Torres, enjoy a concert at an amphitheater facing the Atlantic Ocean, visit the 16th-century San Felipe Fortress. Coco Cana is a restaurant all the way to the East end of Amber Cove Cruise Port area. They have a full bar, and a small menu selection for something quick to eat. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, although the inside is open on two sides, while the outside table have umbrella’s for covering. Nice little restaurant to sit and have a drink and watch the water from, the staff is friendly, and they do not rush you. They usually have some food and drink specials for the Cruise Ships, and is a nice area to relax and get out of the heat for a bit and grab something to eat, and a cold drink, you can sit at the bar, or at one of the indoor or outdoor tables. If you go, need to try the “Monfongo” which is very tasty and one of the local favorites, also the shrimp dish which is also very good. There are only a couple of places to actually get something to eat in Amber Cove, and Coco Cana is more of the traditional restaurant type of place. Would recommend and we will go back again the next time we are in port.

We stoped in to look over their bakery, ice cream, cakes, cookies and other treats. The place was very clean and uniquely decorated. Our treats were very good and the selection was huge. The young girl working was so nice and helpful, zHer English was much better than my Spanish. After looking over the complete menue we had a chicken salad and a phllly cheese steak sandwich. The portions were surprisingly big and prices reasonable. The taste and quality was impressive. Now, we were the only 2 presently ordering food, 2 others were just finishing up. So the service and wait time was good and acceptable.. we will go back again.

Very quite place, you just have to find it, because it is the very last one at the end of the road. Sonja the Dutch owner is very hospitable and the service is good. Nice place for relaxing an afternoon.

We visited Costambar in 2013 and when re-visiting in October 2014 we noticed that Sharky's had opened on Calle Principal. Featuring a large dining area (and adjoining bar) we were fortunate to have shared in the birthday celebration of the owner, who was more than gracious in his welcome The service was fantastic and we enjoyed listening to a local musician, which I appreciated since I am a huge proponent of supporting local musicians, no matter the country. In my estimation there is always room for new businesses and I sincerely believe in the owner's intent of incorporating a different style of dining experience to the Costambar community to be enjoyed for all those who visit or call it home. Thanks Sharky's!

Casa Mia Restaurant

Our first day and you'd think we would eat anything but Italian, I am glad we didn't. I ordered grilled eggplant with marinara and second guessed because the eggplant was grilled. The eggplant was thinly sliced and caramelized so that it had a roasted taste and texture. If you've ever had roasted anything, you know how it enhances flavors. I also had the calamari appetizer that was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff was attentive and helpful answering any questions. There were few because the menu is easy to read with English sub titles. Open air and breezy made for excellent ambiance and I loved it. Great prices were a plus. I didn't order dessert only because I am watching my carbs! One caveat though, if you are not a cat lover don't eat here. It is literally an open door restaurant and the cats lounge under the tables. The place was clean and it didn't bother me that they were there. The staff did run them off after one of our group complained. On the Malecon with a view of the beach out of the windows, nice.

The restaurant is associated with their rental property, but definitely open tothe public ... and it is wonderful, especially considering the area.

I'm reviewing both the restaurant and hotel, though the property seems to be only classified as a restaurant. Full disclosure - we are not at all fans of the super-shiny all-inclusive timeshare resorts, we tend to look for smaller, quieter places that have a more "authentic" vibe to them. We're willing to put up with some minor inconveniences to find that, as long as the place is clean and comfortable. This spot definitely fits the bill if that's what you're looking for. The owner Chris is friendly and laid-back, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the food and drinks are excellent. To top it all off the price can't be beat. There were four of us and we stayed in a two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, and large balcony. There is plenty of room at the bar/restaurant, including comfortable couches to relax the afternoon away with a cold beer. Directly across the street from the beach and within easy walking distance to Ocean World Marina.
