Green House Tambopata is a local tour operator who has acomodations (LOCAL HOUSE ) near the Tambopata National Reserve and among the TAMBOPATA river. We have really nice views and landscapes from our place and a lot of chance to see wildlife from our hammocks at the same time we offer excursions, hikes, birdwatching activities, outdoorsport as kayaking, tree climbing, piranha fishing, lake Sandoval, Chuncho clay lick. Usually we spent most of the days inside the jungle, always with very kind and knowledgeable guides who want to make sure our travellers get a nice jungle experience At the same time our main office provide full day excursions for all travellers who came from all hotels in Puerto Maldonado.
Let’s just start by saying that I had an incredible trip. From the airport pickup, which was on time, to the ride to the lodge, Charlie was welcoming, enthusiastic and extremely informative. The trip was nonstop action, which was great cause we didn’t have time to get bored. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and very friendly and open to talking about everything. The food was absolutely incredible, as well, and that’s sayin a lot for me. I can’t wait to go back!

Monte Amazonico Lodge is a quiet place in the Amazonian Rain Forest located in the buffer zone of the Tambopata National reserve, 100 meters from the shore of the Madre de Dios River, half an hour by boat from Puerto Maldonado, built with materials typical of the area has hammocks, restaurant, bar and guided tours. Good place to see monkeys, alligators, snakes and learn from the Peruvian Amazonian forest.
We stayed there 3 days and 2 nights. We booked our tour in Puerto Maldonado Office. Our tour guide (Victor) was great! He showed us everything, we had a walk in the jungle, boating in the lake. We saw caimans, guinea pig, birds, monkeys, snake, night walk tour, fishing, kayaking, Zipline... All the personnels were amazing people, the food was great, the price was fair. Highly recommend!

Great jungle experience, lovely hosts and nice huts. The lodge is 1,5 hour away (by boat) away from Puerto Maldonado and is one of the most far away ones down this side of the Madre Dios river. I would highly recommend to go as deep into the wild as possible to get really the feeling of the jungle (and not only the sound of passing boats). At the Ecolucerna lodge you will wake up with the sound of wildlife, have great activities in the surroundings and good food, all for an afforable price. Would definitely go there again.

Located in the Amazon rainforest of Southern Peru, near Puerto Maldonado-Tambopata, the lodge itself sits by a natural “cocha” or lake, home to rich ecosystems, tropical plants and beautiful wildlife. This lodge seeks to cater for nature loving enthusiasts who come to the region in search of a memorable ‘full-immersion’ experience in the Amazon jungle one of the New 7 Natural Wonders of the World.
Overall we had fantastic 3 days here. The hotel is beautiful, service was mostly superb, and the guided excursions were fascinating. The food is very good (although potions are somewhat small and the menu options are limited), and dining room service was generally good (but rather slow during busy dinners). However, the place has some significant inconveniences. Most importantly - electricity is only available during limited hours. This means that with the very high humidity and temperatures of the jungle, you sometimes return from a trip in the forest and have to wait for the fan to work or for hot water to be available in the shower. Additionally, while the cabins are beautiful, they are very poorly lit. Also, there are only 2 electricity outlets in each cabin, which is far from enough to charge all electronics in the limited hours of available electricity.

Enjoy a pristine jungle stay on the site of our famous canopy tower and zip line. River frontage, 15 minutes from parrot clay lick. Hostel style or full accommodation available. Volunteer program also available. Only 40 minutes from airport. We can organise an itinerary to suit your requests from visit to Lake Sandoval, McCaw clay lick, Ayahuasca, jungle excursions, river activities, cycling, canopy tower walk and zip line, visit local markets or just to lay around and do nothing.
We opted for a 3day/2night tour & stay & wish we'd have been able to stay longer. Transport was arranged from the airport and Lucho made us feel at home and safe from the moment we arrived. Juan was polite, helpful and fed us with beautiful food. The lodge is comfortable and well maintained, a paradise in the middle of nature. Our walking tours on the first day were breathtaking and we saw amazing wildlife. A well organised lake trip on day 2 and our final morning, whilst disrupted by rain, was fantastic to see the birds under the morning sun. Lucho and Juan could not have done any more to make us feel welcome and like family. This really is a must do if you are visiting peru. I am missing my time there already. THANK YOU LUCHO!

Located in the heart of the peruvian jungle. A place specially created for you to enjoy the natural beauty of the amazon, with the security and confort of a great hotel. Enjoy the relaxing view of the Madre de Dios River and their beautiful dawns from any bungalow. Is the start for most of the expeditions to the best attractions of the Tambopata National Reserve. Hot water, mini bar, air-conditioning, cable TV, internet.
We stayed here for 1 night before leaving Peru after nearly a month touring around. Wasaii Hotel is located right by the Madre de Dios river & is in what is probably the best part of Puerto Maldonado with the attractive Central Plaza very near with the streets nearby containing restaurants & shops. The Hotel is quite sprawling with a very nice reception area off the street & a Cafe / restaurant , too where you will be served your breakfast. There is a Warren of quaint looking rooms connected by wooden walkways & stairs , a pool & past here you descend on wooden steps to the river. A modern accommodation block stands to the side. This is on several floors & accessed by metal stairways. We stayed here & I thought my room was excellent - clean , twin bedded , t v. plenty of electric points, lovely bathroom & a good view of trees & the river. People who have any mobility issues may find all the stairs & different walkways daunting but I noted staff were happy to shift luggage for those who might find it a problem. The staff were efficient & pleasant. Good internet in the reception area. Breakfast could have been a bit better , for me at least, being vegan but the fresh fruit juices were fantastic. We had arranged for a visit to a ( fairly ) near by Clay lick on the river for which we had to leave at first light. The parrots & macaws fly in from the opposite side of the river & although we were delighted to see the blue headed macaws who don't stay long I felt the boat could have been handled better. i e. too much engine revving.

Anaconda Lodge is a friendly, pretty lodge on the outskirts of Puerto Maldonado in the Peruvian Amazon, offering comfortable rooms, a swimming pool and an authentic Thai restaurant, all set in our wonderful botanic garden, ensuring your stay in the Amazon is as relaxing and beautiful as possible. Bungalows have 1 to 3 rooms and house 2 to 5 people, with a private or shared bathroom. The Amazon can be relaxing too!
We were greeted by two hairless dogs with excema yapping at us as we jangled the locked gate open and made our way up the drive. The dogs look like the hyenas out of the lion king, one them has a tongue always lolling out to the side. I hope their skin condition is not contagious. A woman emerges after them and shows us to a cabin with a floor full of empty beds and a single a double made up for us to sleep in. The bed stead’s and surfaces are dusty and the floor is dirty underfoot. I have emailed in advance to ask if we can have a vegetarian meal- I have read she is Thai abd look forward to some nice Thai food. There is none on the menu, and no veg options, everything meat or chicken and chips essentially, which I suppose is why she had not replied. We went into town for dinner, which made it somewhat pointless to stay near the airport and out tour company. It’s a ten minute motor taxi irse along a long dirty dusty road occasionally perfumed with the sickly smell of death. In the morning breakfast is fried eggs with egg pancakes, despite my having specified my husband doesn’t eat eggs: they do bring some cheese on request however and there are a couple of thin slices of avocado, served in a room which also contains the reception desk. A swaggering German man emerges from an inner room and wishes us good morning, probably the proprietor of the place with the two Thai ladies. The whole place feels uncomfortable, and I am almost glad to have to go to the airport to get cash to pay them as they don’t have a card machine or PayPal etc, even though it is a hot sweaty walk down an unappealing road. When I get back I feel I don’t even want to touch anything, just to get out of there soon as I can. Something is weird there.

Casa Sandoval inside the Tambopata National Reserve at Sandoval lake offers the best experience to see wildlife compared to any other place, confortable rooms with the charming service of the owners; a local family who live there for generations, small lodge design for small groups, families and private service, arround Casa Sandoval and the lake you have the chance to see 6 species of monkeys, black caymans, giant otters, sloths, etc, abundace of birds, the best sunset ever, and full activities in the jungle by day and nignt. when you book Casa Sandoval you book a hole service with excursions, transportation, meals, guides and entrance fee, 100% of services since you arrival in the city.
Me and my fiance just came back from a 5-day tour with JunglePro. It couldn't have been better. From planning to conducting all was excellent. I really recommend this local tour provider. We stayed one night at Casa Sandoval. Casa Sandoval is only accessible via a 3 km long jungle hike over a wooden boardwalk followed by a boat trip across Lake Sandoval with a canoe. The lake and the landscape are breathtakingly beautiful - almost magical. Casa Sandoval has everything you need. Everything is clean, the food is excellent, the hosts are extremely nice. The cold beer in the evening tastes particularly good considering that it was carried just with manpower the 3 km long jungle path, across the lake by canoe and then up the stairs to the accommodation.
