We really enjoyed our stay. The owners took great care of us and went out of their way to help in any way. The food was fantastic and the room served our needs perfectly. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. They also helped us get a taxi back and forth to make things even easier.

Bolivar Montalvo and Gloria Salas began over 40 years ago today Galapagos Pension Gloria Morning Glory Lodge staying tourists of all nationalities , with a family atmosphere . The hostel is located at Av . Charles Darwin and offers guests the ease of being close to the beach , restaurants, pharmacies , airline offices , hospital, state offices , travel agencies and national police.
Was recommended this hostal by dive operators and also saw on Air Bnb. Lovely place, on the main drag but enough away to be quiet and in its own hip neighborhood (and right next to the best sushi i have ever had). Private room with bath was artistic and quiet, opened to a courtyard and garden with hammocks and an outdoor kitchen and eating area, at which I often sat with my fellow travelers and traded tips and stories. Reuben, the host, is excellent and a former guide, so he has so many good tips and is eager to share. Good security. Loved it loved it.

We spent 5 days at the Hostel La Mirada del Solitario George and were thrilled. Our room was very spacious and was cleaned every day. But what we liked most was the hospitality of the owners/staff. They were always very friendly, helpful and planned/booked our entire Galapagos stay with us. This allowed us to fully enjoy our stay and not waste time organizing tours. Thank you very much for everything ?.

The hostel and its privileged location allows you to enjoy the most exclusive area of Santa Cruz Island located on the main road that will connect you in five minutes to the areas of greatest tourist activity, and major shopping centers, entertainment, culture, trade and gastronomy. Our hotel is just 15 minutes minutes Breeding Center "Fausto Llerena" where you can also learn the history of the legendary "Lonesome George". You will delight immediately with an exquisite view of the city surrounded by its fauna, flora and unique natural areas. It will be a privilege to host your visit to the Galapagos Islands.
Puerto Ayora kind of smells gross so it's not the hotels fault that you can sort of "smell the pipes." if you will. However, the hotel staff are super friendly(even though they dont speak english) and you literally CANNOT beat the price. My room was lovely, with a new air conditioner and a flat screen tv for $18 a night. Literally nuts.

This hotel is a little gem in Santa Cruz. The garden is a good place to chill and the staff can help you organise anything you would like to do (including camping on one of the beaches). The kitchen is fully equipped and the beds are very comfortable.

Our Hostal has a large terrace where is located the cafeteria and our kitchen for guest. Wi-fi, laundry service, exchange books and magazines. We have matrimonial, single, double, triple and family rooms with hot water, air conditioning and also cable tv.
I stayed here for 4 nights. The room is nothing special, but ok and most importantly clean. The guy who makes breakfast is very nice. The breakfast is basic. A portion of scrambled eggs, a bread, jam and butter, coffee/tea and juice. It is write that hot water is available from 07:00 PM to 06:00 AM. I had one time the luck to have a hot shower and that was at 04:00 PM (???). The other times at 08:00 PM and 05:00 AM I only had cold showers.

Our hostel is very new with spacious rooms and a tall structure in which we have an advantage of the beautiful view that you can get from our coast as well as the vegetation of the highland. Facilities We are a few steps of: food center, center of nightlife (bars, clubs), craft Pier, Boardwalk and Pier Passenger, Banco del Pacifico and AMT, offices of airlines TAME and LAN, Excellent view of the Port, laundries . We also have knowledge of everything you can on our island like the others, which are daily tours, bay tours, diving, overall we help you get it. Services • Daily cleaning of rooms • Wireless Internet • Hot water • TVC • Air conditioning or fan • Water Dispenser
Good value for your dollar. Pretty basic accommodations, but the a/c worked and the showers generally had hot water. No worries x tras like closets or shampoo. Rooms pretty spacious. Best part was going up to the 4th or 5th levels to view the port and watch the herons sweeping down from the mountains in the evenings. Breakfast was fine, served on the upper patio in the fresh air, American style on the day we spent there. We stayed at other places for this price which were not as nice. If you’re on a budget, you could do far worse!

The only positive was the location. If you are taking the ferry to the other islands, the pier is easily within walking distance (5 mins walk). But the rest is really bad. #1 issue is the hot water, which was not available at all. My wife was forced to skip a shower because of this on the first nite. The next day I queried the lady at the reception on this and at first feigning ignorance and subsequently coming to our room to check, she went back down and I am sure to turn the power on for the water heater, the shower was (presto!) hot. This was at 6pm. Thinking the hot water issue was resolved, we went for dinner first instead of taking a shower. Big mistake. By the time we were back in the room at about 9pm, there was no hot water again. No one was at reception and buzzing the bell was pointless - no one came. Clearly, the water heater was turned off again. For what purpose? To save a few bucks on electricity? I know, i know, electricity is expensive, etc, etc. But hey it is 9pm, not midnight. Why turn off the water heater power? How much can you really save? Folks, I stayed during the cold season (Sep) and believe me, hot water is needed! It is not all sunshine and humidity in the Galapagos. Another issue, the room can be cold too and while I don't expect a heater, surely some thick blankets will be nice? Lastly, the Wi-Fi was hard to get on and when you manage to, it was very weak. The hotel claims it is 24 hours reception. Good luck finding someone to man the reception desk. Even if you ring the bell, no one comes after 9pm (or early in the morning). I feel that this hotel is not prepared to welcome guests, especially English speaking ones. On my part, I have learnt simple Spanish phrases to get me along (ordering food for example) . Surely being a hotel, you would have some encounters with tourists who speak English and learnt some useful everyday phrases connected to staying at the hotel. But the lady totally did not know a single word of English and was not interested in trying sign language too (or google translate for that matter). It is crystal clear they are not in the hospitality business. Also, check out is 9am and we wanted to leave our luggage until our ferry at 1pm. The same young lady who checked the hot water flatly refused. I saw she was leaving her shift so I tried again later with the other female staff who was taking over the day shift. She was more pleasant and helpful. This is the off season, but that does not mean your service standards drop. And in fact, with less guests, you should have ample time to give better service. Sadly, I did not encounter anything remotely good during my 2 night stay here. The hot water issue was really the first time I stayed at a hotel/hostel/BnB/Airbnb/etc, where there was no hot water in the room. Skip it and stay somewhere better!!
