Restaurant with over 60 years of tradition preparing the finest meals of the region, served by the very owner in a family environment.

The food is mediocre at best, and more imprtant: They did not have most on the items on stock which were on the menu. We did come here twice regardless because they have a roof terrace with a great view on the plaza - definitevely worth it. Just come here for a drink.

We came here for breakfast a couple of times. The food is okay, not outstanding. I had the chilaquiles and a mushroom omelette. The coffee is quite week, but that's kind of par for the course in Mexico, although they grow great coffee near here. The view is very nice of the plaza.

This beauitfully decorated restaurant definitely keeps with the charm of Cuetzalan being a "pueblo magico". This restaurant has two dinning rooms, one with large windows looking out onto the streets, the cathedral and hills of Cuetzalan. It is located very close to the zócalo. I ate there three times during the week I spent in Cuetzalan. When I had a late lunch on Sunday afternoon there was live music in the restaurant. It was charming. They have a very good mushroom soup here. I especially liked their potatoe tacos. They had a large selection of food that is from the region. It is opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would definitely eat here again if I visited Cuetzalan and I would recommend it to other travelers.
My wife, young boys, and I had dinner at Las Ranas, which is a small, stand-alone restaurant located inside of an artesanal market. Itâs approximately three or four blocks off the main square, directly across the street from the Cuetzalan cultural museum and what looked like a nice coffee shop. The food at Las Ranas was very good, the portions were sizable, and the prices were quite affordable (250 pesos for the four of us). I highly recommend the empipianadas con pollo (chicken enchiladas in pipián mole). I saw on the menu that they also serve breakfast.

We are a restaurant 100% Cuetzalteco With over 60 meals on our menu. Breakfast. Pasta. Salads. Seafood. Regional food. Food of the day. We have catering service, we fit your budget.
This is a typical place where locals go for a midday meal, and not really focused on tourism. The food is good and people are nice. But do remember that 'local nice' is not the same as 'tourism nice'. You will be treated as any customer, without overbearing servitude nor synthetic friendship. Perhaps my best comparison would be a roadside truckers' dinner. Service is businessline and the meals simple but tasty and fulfilling. If you have this in mind, you can leave happy and satisfied. Good value in my mind.

We ate for breakfast during a big festival and this place was very crowded. The service was very slow, I think they were just overwhelmed. The food was so so, my wife's enchiladas were lukewarm But the interior is great with all sorts of wonderful 1930s, 1940s Mexican photos.

The food is tasty, regional antojitos like empanadas, cecina, tamales, mole, pipián, and delicious soups. The highlight, though, is the ambience. The humid stone walls are illuminated by ceramic and woven lamps, and on Friday and Saturday nights a couple of musicians take requests and really animate the crowd. Lots of fun.
