Just had a lovely lunch here. The manager couldn't have been more friendly and helpful going to great trouble to translate the menu for us. We were offered (and rapidly accepted) on the house some gorgeous goat cheese, bread with olive oil and nuts on and the pork main meal was wonderful. The bottle of wine for 7 euros was great value in our opinion too. On a hot day this was a lovely place to linger. Highly recommended. Each customer Hostaria della Rosa deserves warmth and friendliness. Our mission is to select the best quality of products to fulfill the wishes of our customers and make happy their lunch. When our customer is happy, we are happy with him.Thank you for choosing the Hostaria Rose, and thank you for your review.Best regardsMaurizio Vecchi

I haven't been to all the local restaurants, yet, but I'm surprised it seems to top the list. Don't get me wrong the service was attentive, food was good (we had pizza) and the price was ok. What we felt it lacked was warmth. The main restaurant is a huge tiled room with large tables well spaced from each other. If you are there for a wedding on a lovely summers day it is probably totally different but on a cold and blustery November evening it felt uninviting not withstanding the service. I was hoping for a warm inviting country house but what I got was cold and uninviting. Outside they have a decent garden area with a pretty pergola which strongly suggests their main business is in wedding reception market. One point on the food, we ordered pizza, fine. But they brought us an appetiser of thing focaccia which was very nice but not what you want when you are about to eat pizza! After a few slices of the focaccia she couldn't finish the pizza. Better would have been a lovely canapé that showed off the chefs skill and maybe might have brought me back to try something else other than pizza. I asked for a wheat or white beer but I got a lager. Not sure the waiter knew the difference. The prices were average.

We went to this restaurant on a rainy early summer evening and we experienced a rather lovely meal. The place is cosy and rich of atmosphere, dishes were very well presented and the combination of ingredients really intriguing: tagliolini with persico fish and wild fennel very good.I'd recommend this place when in the area.

I came back again to San Martino for holidays, and also this time I'm gone to this fantastic Restaurant where I've aeten fried apple with pecorino cheese and honey, fantastic combination, cheeses with fruit mustards, ravioli with purple patatoes with cod sauce and fresh mozzarella. Drinking a good beer from a local brewery. What to say more, very very warm the hospatality , were the clients are wellcome. They speak many languages and you can understand what you eat cos the menu are wrote in 3 languages. If you arethere, try it....

Although the waiter was pleasant, we struggled as we don't know much Italian. There is 1 menu in the restaurant for all other languages and although we managed to order the main part of our meals we didn't succeed in getting any side orders. As such we either had a plate with just a steak on or chicken. If we were conversant in the language we'd have done better but beware English cannot always be relied on (and quite rightly shouldn't be). My wife thought she'd ordered a bottle of Prosecco for herself and our daughter but simply pointing to 2 glasses, after pointing at the bottle, led to them getting 2 glasses of Prosecco. Am sure we'll learn from he experience. The food we did receive was generally nice though.

We had a very pleasant lunch in a square just over the road from the main restaurant. The roasted vegetables with different types of mozzarella was more than enough for two people, as a starter. The zucchini, eggplant and red capsicum were grilled to perfection. The array of pizzas was most inviting and the sizes were enormous, so much so that we had to take the uneaten portions away.Total cost including a bottle of water âfrizzanteâ came to â¬33.

I've been coming here on and off for nearly twnty years (back when they were on the main streeet as "la taverna" and this place never disappoints. Whether it's one of their magical pizzas or fresh fish or pasta, the place is good home-grown Lazio cooking. Fine food at fine prices.

After quite a wee while we went back to Sor Francesco's and I must admit that, rather disappointingly, I found it slightly worse than it used to be. There were only two types of wine by the glass on offer (the wine list is extensive, and weighs half a ton so this lack was distinctive). The fried porcini mushroom I ordered lacked salt and in my book they did not taste like porcinis at all. I chose the fried porcinis from the side dishes menu (8 euros per portion) and clearly specified to the waiter it was the right size for me. On the bill they were priced 12 euros so I am not sure whether I was overcharged or simply given the wrong dish (perhaps a main?). I finished off an average meal with a sweet wine (6 euros) served frozen and hardly drinkable. Certainly it was not to my taste at all. The dining al fresco area is rather casual, and we had a full view of the neighbourhood's balconies with loaded washlines. The cars and motorini were parked very close to the canopy iself, less than a yard from our table, I reckon. I will not haste back, I am afraid.
