We drove past first time and couldn't find it. Being Englishmen of very limited lingo we thought maybe due to the name of this restaurant we'd find an English speaker to help us translate. Antonio did more than help us with the menu, he offered us great company and we discussed everything from football to politics and beyond. The wild mushrooms were perfect. Best meal in all of Vicenza. 5 star service from a 5 star team. Please come visit Comfort Food. You won't regret it :-)Thank you very much dear Dzi....

Small and romantic family-run restaurant, along the way on the Berici's hill. We offer traditional dishes of Vicenza, but looking at the present, prepared with local and seasonal ingredient.
I found this wonderful place high above Vicenza south of the city. I wandered out on a Sunday and stumbled into this place. Family-run and cheerful in the way the best Italian smaller establishments are. Pretty cosy with 10-15 tables. I showed up pretty late for a Sunday but I was welcomed warmly. Some foods seen locally such as bigoli with duck sauce. The speciality of the house is actually Piedmontese (Piedmont is a few hours west of Vicenza); a boIled meat plate, with pork, beef and chicken, served aux jus, with vegetables and an array of different toppings (horseradish, Himalayan salt, etc). Lots of cuts to include a favourite, tongue. Absolutely delicious. House wine was excellent and not too astringent. Finished with a doppio. Profuse friendliness. Received a free bottle of house wine. Vicenza is near an American army base. Restaurants tend to cater to American pallets. Many are ok, but this is closer to being a treasure. If you are American and you want to experience Italian dining, this is a great choice.

Fish restaurant, traditional italian food. Fried fish. Gluten free options. Hand made breads and desserts.
We happened upon this restaurant whilst travelling back from the railway station to our holiday cottage following a day in Venice. The menu was only in Italian and the owner didn't speak much English. But this wasn't an issue as the chef came out and went through the menu with us. On to the food, all I can say is that we have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants and some of the food presented here is no far short of what we have experienced in these. Some of the highlights are the mixed starters, breaded mackerel and the selection of desserts which are clearly made on site. All this for 60⬠for 2 for 3 courses, coffee and half bottle of wine.Overall, the whole team went out of their way to make us feel welcome, especially the owner and I can't recommend this restaurant enough.Thank you Mark B. We're glad to hear we met your expectations.Paolo & Giovanni

When spent Easter Sunday lunch with family and friends and we have been very well received and treated. Food was really excellent, tasty and in quantity. The family who is leading the restaurant is friendly, the kitchen is open and we had the opportunity to discuss with the Chef, a great professional and very sympathetic guy.

I was there once with a colleague, being advised by counterparts, and had a very pleasant experience. Fish is their specialty and is really good; I had a "Rana pescatrice al forno", my colleague tuna. Also the choice of craft beers is very good: they are from Friulan microbrewery Gjulia. The only minor disappointment was the tiramisù, definitely less appealing than the one I tasted at Trattoria dei Gobbi.

I had the opportunity to discover Cricheoln for lunch while on business in Vicenza. This restaurant is located at the top of a huge hill and is surrounded by vineyards. The food at the restaurant for lunch was top notch high end family cooking. The plates are not fancy but are authentic northern Italian dishes. During our meal we were treated with sparking white wine to start our meal. My appetizer consisted of Baccalà mantecato con crostini al burro e polenta brustolita . This fish dish was perfectly prepared. For my main dish, I ordered Scampi in pasta Kataifi su daddolata di verdurine croccanti. The pasta was prepared al'dente and the fish blend just melted in your mouth. This meal was accompanied by a nice bottle of white wine. We enjoyed our great meal while enjoying the great view overlooking the hills.I will definitely come back for lunch or dinner and may also consider staying at the hotel which is located on the top of the hill next to the restaurant. Overall great atmosphere and fabulous food at moderate prices.

I can thoroughly recommend this truly authentic and charming restaurant that exudes wonderful character with a warm atmosphere and ambient familiarity .Impeccable service without being intrusive, the staff really care about your choice of meal and are most accommodating. The food itself I found superb, extremely flavorsome, very traditional and not at all cliche.

My husband and I wanted a non complicated meal, we didn't realize when we chose this pizzeria that there would be so many choices. Friendly and efficient staff. A pizza kitchen you can see right in and watch the chefs toss and make each order fresh. We had 2 different kinds, both were cheesy, full of plenty ingredients. The salad was large enough to share which we did, and each had a beer plus coperto was a mere â¬36.00. We thought I'd was very reasonable! We would highly recommend this for a great pizza and a nice experience.

The place is fantastic. Just attached to the Basilica Palladian, a stunning monument that releases a majestic atmosphere of the Vicenza important past. But the contrast with the very poor service of the restaurant destroyed the good sensations. I was there with international business guests and it was very hard to sustain the reliability and quality of our company service after choosing such a disorganized and not friendly place.Food was below average as well. The pizzas were not cooked enough, probably because they messed up their backing oven organization...
