What a lovely little restaurant. It hasn't got a prestige position on the water but it makes up for it in food, service and friendliness.We tried it on the off chance for pizza at lunchtime and went back later in the week for dinner. For dinner we had fish - a grilled trout and perch in lemon sauce, both excellent. Having watched the owner lovingly make sorbettos, we had to have one each time - with a splash of vodka for good measure.

The food was very good, however the restaurant is clearly understaffed. Long waiting, one order misunderstood (a different fish brought than ordered), wine forgotten. The next time we shall try some other place.Thank you for writing the review,I apologize for the wait but Unfortunately Saturday and Sunday customers also know that the waiting time is certainly different than a normal day. If you can come during the week will be my guest and we could best express.I apologize for having made him lose his precious time on our deck overlooking the lake.

Our third day in Torri del benaco. After a very dissatisfying lunch ont the harbour with tiny portions and big prices, we ventured along the harbour front to Da Carlo. We were greeted well all staff very friendly, with a good sense of humour. The sommelier was excellent advising us on nice dry rose and white wine. The food was superb, from the crisp fresh salad, fantastic pastas and tender delicious veal scallopinos.All in all a great experience. Well done to all the staff, who worked great as a team.

Eating outside on the promenade was delightful. My salad was enough for an entree and my entree, a simple spaghetti with garlic and oil oil, a special request since not on the menu, was excellent. Al dente with just enough red pepper flakes. The cheese and meat platter was fresh and delicious. Four of us ate it all. The staff was extraordinary to the smallest detail. By fair the best meal for nine days in Italy!

this place is situated just on the the lake with a beautiful view but unfortunately we reached late so was nearly dark so the view was gone anyhow the food the food what we ordered was good only found the service a little slow although they were not fully booked> two people ordered fish and one got only after one had finished anyhow now for the food was really nice the branzino was really tasty have a good timeThank you for the review. We are happy that you have found the food really nice and we are happy to read words like yours, we regret that the service was not up to par, but we want our dishes to come out of the kitchen perfect.We hope to see you soon.

Another great recommendation from TA - and glad that we booked. Very small intimate dining area inside - rather like a grotto. Attentive service - just the owner I think but she manages extremely well. Pasta tasted home made - good local wine at a sensible price. Worth returning to....so we did.

Doesn't look that much different to all the other restaurants alongside the lake but we enjoyed the best meal of our stay on Lake Garda. The weather meant that we ate indoors. We shared an excellent starter of parma ham and melon - doesn't sound that exciting but it was delicious - finely cut ham and succulent melon. OH chose the pluma pork which looked like ribs but was just nicely marinated tender pork. I had Filetto Elegante wrapped in lardo and without doubt the finest piece of fillet steak I have ever eaten. The owner (Nicola ??) explained the provenance - from the cows on the hills around Monte Baldo. He seems to take great care in every part of the operation and it shows. The chef was happy to wander out and chat. Memorable experience.

The location of Alla Grotta is wonderful. Itâs located right down on the waterfront with a deck overhanging the lake. From here you can see birdlife and large fish circling below you, waiting for a tasty morsel from benevolent diners. We didnât give any of our food to the wildlife. We ate is all with great gusto because it was delicious. The woman who served us was very helpful and kind and we really enjoyed having lunch here.

Probably this is a family-oriented restaurant, and this explains why there were so many kids screaming and running around like maniacs. I am not against children if they are well-mannered, but when it is too much it becomes annoying for the other guests trying to have dinner and trying to exchange a normal conversation. Food was overall good, a bit over-priced, but what ruined everything was the atmosphere. Not to try if you see kids running around...

This fine restaurant is situated away from lake Garda, therefor a bit less crowded. We were with four friends and tried to figure out the menu when this waitress came to our table and started talking Dutch. She speaks four or more languages so this was very helpful. We had a wonderful and good meal, with drinks and desert for less than â¬25,- each. We even got a discount mentioning the hotel we stayed. Do not hesitate to go there, you won't be disappointed.Grazie mille...Dank je wel Hopelijk tot een volgende keer!!
