Only a small track joins Otro to the rest of the world. It takes less an hour to arrive to the closest parking. The accomodation is essential, the food is great and the hosts (3 girls) are delicious! It's a place you want to come back for sure!

Abyssmal service. They can't count when taking orders, starters come after mains, some in the group got food 45 minutes after others finished.Treat it like the plague and keep clear. There are plenty of better places around.

On your way to (or from) Alagna, this small wayside resaurant offers well-prepared local ingredients in season in a delightful setting, at a reasonable price. We enjoyed delicious light ravioli stuffed with handmade local cheese drowning in fresh melted butter with wild oregano followed by polenta with a wild boar stew, and a mushroom casserole made with the first of the season's porcini. The cost including drinks - â¬19 each. The scenery was hypnotic, the sound of the torrent on the other side of the road was occasionally punctuated by a passing vehicle, but life passed by very peacefully.

If you are looking for some fancy or traditional cocktails, Mario (the owner of this bar) can do it!We recommend this place for Happy Hours or after dinner cocktails. If you take an apertivo, they do not serve a lot of complementary snacks but we recommend to try the traditional "Miaccia" sweet or sour.Mario, Lorena and Marzia will make yourself feel at home in this small but cosy place.

Quite a basic dining experience. Grilled meat a fair choice but do not expect flexibility on their standard offer.

Located in the heart of "Valle Vogna", at an altitude of 1380 meters, the small homonymous rifuge can be reached by car from Riva Valdobbia. This ancient structure, warm and friendly introduces the visitor into an ancient and timeless atmosphere. This refuge represents a convenient starting point for numerous walks inside and around this nice valley. The homely cooking offers guests with platters of cold cuts, meat stew with polenta (rabbit, ribs, stew and game) and the special soup of Val Vogna: the "Potatoes Maserai". Simple and great!

Great value place, loved pizza which you can double up for only 4e, house wine is perfect. Lighting bit too much but no need to worry about that.

We were told that the Unione was established as a meeting place for the Alagnese people about a century ago, and then developed into an eatery, as well. This history explains the palpably warm atmosphere of the place. Whether you go there for a meal, a coffee & cake, or simply a drink (and we did all of these) you feel welcome.Bookings are recommended. The place is very popular for dinner, with both locals and visitors, and rightly so. The high quality food is typically Alagnese, with seasonal specialties, such as porcini. Portions are generous and great value for money. Service is down-to-earth, friendly and helpful. No false airs and graces. We loved this place.

Savour your adventure over typical cuisine from Alagna and the valleys Restaurant Montagna di Luce, typically authentic mountain informality in the restaurant with wooden tables, stone walls and mountain tools adorning them, the pride and joy of Montagna
We came back here based on our former positive experience a couple or more years ago, but this time was just ok with a minusâ¦Location is enchanting, in a beautiful village at north of Alagna with beautiful country interiors and outdoor terrace (perfect during the sunny days). We had 2 starters (one vegetarian 12.00 and with meat fillings 12.00); polenta with sausages (12.00); lamb ribs (17.00); bacetti di montagna (house dish 11.00) which is a beignet filled with cheese and mortadella cubes, grated very thick and cheesy⦠all edible⦠local wines (we had the Muntacc). A beautiful place where to lunch/dine in this valley with good and beautifully presented food.We were welcomed by this lady (seems to be the manager); elegant, tall and polite to customers but somehow intimidating⦠at the end when asked her the bill, she was busy: cleaning the dining room (ok, we were the last ones leaving the place) she said: âWaitâ¦â she continued to clean and vaccum-clean the room⦠my mate got tired waiting for her to come to set the bill so I told him wait me in the car⦠usually I considered myself patient and understanding but this was a bit too much as I stood there waiting some more minutes watching her doing cleaning duties (with nobody else in the restaurant nor the reception area)⦠is not better settle the last customers bill, close the cashier, close the doors and do the after lunch-before dinner duties in peace with nobody (bugging) in the area? It seemed a punishmentâ¦

Great refuge, well located and comfortable. The restaurant inside is very characteristic and food is good. Rooms have comfortable beds and are "practices" for need of a bathroom and they're in a central position from the restaurant.Beautiful view of Monte Rosa, especially during sunrise.
