I highly recommend this place, whenever you are around Dolo and have appetite for fish. I went several times, as I visit the area often and love to explore restaurants: this is my favourite. The proposition is simple and effective: really fresh fish every day from local fishermen, well executed traditional venetian recipes, an appropriate wine list, in a cozy and elegant ambient -- including outdoor tables. It's a small place, where the two owners seem to do everything, from cooking to attending tables to entertaining customers. Therefore the atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, the service always prompt and attentive. As said, I went several times and it never failed to deliver a fantastic value for money. I suggest you ask them for what is the best catch of the day; as they buy fish every morning, they are always fair in recommending you the best item on the menu. Some reviews mention it is "expensive"; but frankly I think prices are appropriate. I am saying this comparing to 1) other fish restaurants in the area, with same or higher prices but with less value in terms of food, service and ambient and 2) the market price of fresh fish and good wine, which I discovered to be very high by going to the market myself. Some other reviews mention bad service, or small plates. Never happened to me, and does not seems to fit the two generous owners; however being a two-men-show I guess some times they may under deliver.Clearly I am a supporter. Surely they can further improve, adding new flavours to the menu and removing those awkward paintings from the walls.

The restaurant is located in Villa Franceschi hotel, I ordered risotto and for the main course calamari which both was perfect. The wine was also perfect.I have no idea about the price as I was a guest

Love this restaurant! Food, wine and price!Small restaurant, you need to make a reservation, because they will buy fish based on the number of people! The restaurateur will decide and bring for you several appetizer dishes, one better than the other! Afterward you can choose between spaghetti, grigliata or frittura mista! Closing with a sgroppino or an espresso! Price 33 euro!Highly recommend ! 30 minutes drive from Venice, but worth it and afterward you can always visit the Villas on the Brenta river!

This one is near to perfect. In December we had the weeding lunch of my best Italian friend there, but we did eat there several times and always very good food. Variations of Venetian food in modern stile combined with an amzing collection of wine.Friendly people always trying to find a nice table for you.

Probably 3* is a little harsh as I enjoyed my food here but this area has so many excellent fish restuarants and I didn't feel this one stood out.I was amazed how big the restaurant is and how many people were there on a Tuesday evening. There seemed to be a lot of parties there last night and so went up stairs - which was quite busy too.The decor is traditional and felt welcoming. Although no one spoke godd English we managed to get by and the menu did arrive in a range of languages so that was good. Bread and water were provided quickly and I ordered a drfat beer to drink. Food order was taken quickly although waited for some time for antipasti to arrive.Went for the cold cuts of meat which was a reasonable selection though no salami. It was presented simply on a plate and tasted fine. For main courses I tried rombo (turbot) for the first time in Italy and it was cooked Greek style with olives and tomatoes and some sliced potatoes. The vegetables I ordered didn't arrive (and my Italian wasn't good enough to argue this when the bill arrived so had to pay for them). It tasted OK but nothing special and certainly don't to the level of other fish restaurants in the area.So I left feeling that I had a reasonable meal but not a meal that I would agree that this is the number 1 restaurant in the area.

Went here on the advice of our hotel and we were not disappointed. You are told straight away at he restaurant only seves fish. Had a couple of glasses of excellent prosecco before a lovely crab starter. We had the selection of grilled and fried fish between us and all was very fresh and cooked very well. Didn't have dessert as quite full with the first 2 courses and the lovely bread on the table. Returned 2 weeks later and had a similarly good meal so not a one off!

My wife and I drove here from nearby Padova to celebrate her birthday. It was our first time, and we were not disappointed. The Slovenian Malvasia we drank paired excellently with the very fresh seafood, and the staff was super attentive. The sociable owner Hedi (Eddy) greeted us tableside and asked if we'd like to start with appetizers, which we heartily agreed to. Thus began a nice sequence of small plates that included soft polenta with moscardini (little octopus), followed by an array of traditional boiled, local shellfish, and sfogio in saor (sweet 'n sour flounder). Next came three small servings of pasta: ghochetti with porcini and ventresca, risotto alla pescatora, and spaghetti with bottarga di muggine and vongole (clams). By that point we were full, so we skipped main courses and dessert, which we would have liked to have tried. Next time we come we now know that we should assert our preferences ahead of time so that we might have had fewer starter and first course plates to leave room for a local main dish and dessert.

Decoration à la grandmother. Cosy and relaxed. Run by some vivid and caring witches. Very charming atmosphere. Food merits 3.75 points.
