We were staying at Castigni B&B and walked to this restaurant, attracted by their outside seating and good menu. Had an outstanding meal of salmon for one and sea bass for the other, both excellent and complemented by a very satisfactory liter of house white. Had the first item on the dessert menu, also outstanding. Finally the server was first rate. A nice surprise and a super last lunch in Italy.

I reside in Vergiate and have visited Giglio countless times with my colleagues. Apparently they do good fish though I have not gotten round to that yet because of their extensive pizza menu. Staff a very friendly, they have a huge selection of sizable pizzas and the desserts are great. I recommend giving this place a visit if passing through Vergiate.

Stopped in for a quick bite. Nice day, could have sat outside but chose to sit inside. Pleasant interior.Menu had a good selection and there was also a lunch menu available. Service was efficient. I had a mixed seafood dish which was both of good quality and size.Overall a good experience and will go back for dinner.

MoMa L'ospite e il gusto...If you're looking for that very exclusive, pricy place that will NOT let you down...then this is it. Too many restaurants out there claim this prerogative, but fewer bring in the goods. Mo ma's does! Wow! A little different - as I was told by a local in Sesto Calende - but quite impressive.

We dined here with friends who live in Sesto Calende, and it was intended as a thank-you meal to them for their hospitality. The dining room is immaculate and bright, perhaps too much so (our Italian friend likened it to a hospital). It has a great location, in the centre of the town, with views across the River Ticino. The menu is sensibly limited but with a sufficient range of dishes to please most palettes. Service was good, if a little distant. The quality of the food varied according to the dish: the tagliata - ordered by two of us - was sliced too thinly and provided little satisfaction; but the pasta dishes were better received.

Familiar and intimate atmosphere where the quality of the products and the care of every details prevail
In Casteletto lived four days. Two evenings spent in this restaurant. I liked everything very much. Price and quality and service. The beef fillet was incomparable. Colmar rings are the same. The desserts are great. White homemade wine completes this list :)

Seafood restaurant
We have been living in the Varese area for three months with many opportunities to eat in restaurants. Il Marinaio was simply the best meal we have had. Unfortunately we leave Italy in two days, but we could not have asked for a more perfect send off. We enjoyed the tasters menu and left all choices to the chef. Preparation and presentation were spectacular. Service was professional and helpful. We only regret we did not find this place until it was time to return to America. Don't let the humble street view dissuade you -- inside is charming and classy. Compliments to the chef!

Wen is located on one corner of a round-about in Vergiate. Apparently they have a second location in Gallarete. The decor and layout of the restaurant is really nice. Warm and cozy while also being zen and cool. There are several seating options available, including private rooms. The restaurant is super clean and well maintained. (spotless bathrooms)We ate at the Hibachi bar and were constantly entertained by a very skillful chef.First course was sushi, followed by a seafood/noodle dish prepared on the Hibachi bar, followed by desert. We shared a bottle of Pinot Noir.Food impressions:Sushi - Was very fresh, but very simple - no complexity. I really tried to find something on the sushi menu that looked complex, but couldn't.Hibachi prepared seafood noodle dish - Very tasty, but again, not too complex or daring.Pinot Noir - excellent wine choice to have a red with sushi - nice and light and well priced.Desert - very delicious. I wonder if they make their own deserts in-house?Overall, the food was delicious and fresh, but on the simple side.Service:Outstanding.....very attentive, efficient and engaging.Price (each) was 44 Euro

The restaurant is really nice, you read the menu directly on a tablet and waiters were really nice. The starter was really good and well presented, salmon with truffles but the main course I chose was a bit disappointing: Korean gnocchi.... The tuna roll instead was really good. Overall I suggest it if you want to try something new.

New challenge for the young Neapolitan chef who moves from Galliate Lombardo Gallarate, cultural capital of the province of Varese.Gallarate, March 15, 2011 - Ilario Vinciguerra, opened his new restaurant in the heart of Gallarate, built in a charming Art
Very few restaurants manage to get it all right, but Ilario Vinciguerra shows that it can be done. From the moment you walk in the door, it is obvious you are in capable hands and will have an amazing evening. The decor is starkly modern, yet not uncomfortable, somewhat at odds with what you'd expect in this beautiful old villa. Cuisine is a modern take on traditional Neapolitan fare, with a slight twist of molecular gastronomy. But unlike the offerings of Thomas Keller or Ferran Adria, Ilario gives you an actual meal, and not just some simmering fluff on a pretty plate. Service is attentive, and they are happy to walk you through the menu and wine list. Particularly impressive is their wine list, with an eclectic range suitable for any budget. (Some real finds here if you have the wallet for it.) We tried several items from the menu, all delicious. The foie gras torchon and steak tartare were amazing starters, and the main courses of suckling pig and braised veal cheek were both fantastic. In between all this decadent good eating, little surprises will come to the table from the kitchen. Be prepared to leave very full, and very happy. Definitely makes the list of my Top 10 restaurants in the world.gentile michhael c,la ringrazio per le belle parole e quando verrai di nuovo nel nostro fantastico paese l'aspettiamo a braccia aperte .cordialmente ilario vinciguerra
