We visited La Terrazza for the first time after reading the good reviews on Tripadvisor and weren't disappointed. Delicious food, beautifully presented, served by friendly courteous staff and very reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. We'll definitely return and can highly recommend it.

I was the first time in this Restaurant, that's very nice. All was very good and I can't tell something about the price, because i was invited based on a business dinner. But what I can say is that the waiter has room for improvement as follows:He was very exerted to explain me all the food in English. That was very good. But there were served a lot of food we didn't have odered (but without to pay additional, which was naturally OK) and he didn't ask me if i like it or not. I refer herewith on the 3 crabs and the oysters and it was not possible for me to eat them. Maybe good but too strange for me to eat. From this Point of time he ignored me deliberatly regarding to top up my glasses (wine and water) and that is in fact an effrontery. The 3 Points instead of 5 is only because of this situation.

Enjoyed a lovely business lunch with fresh truffles on a lovely steak tartare starter and just perfect risotto. Beware the dessert trolley - you will find it very hard to resist. Very good wine list. Would love to visit in Spring/summer as the garden looked amazing.

Went with family for dinner. Small restaurant in the old part of Varese. Super friendly service and menu deviates from usual northern Italian fare. Delicious prawn tartare, followed by large fusili with duck ragu-sublime. Pigeon breast with rhubarb sauce was delicious. My son declared the steak was the best he'd ever had. No room for dolce!!! Will return.

Totally suggested for meat lovers, but be sure to make a reservation in advance because sits are limited and it's always full of people even in the beginning of the week.I personally suggest to go for the steaks (fiorentina or fillet), burgers looks good but really...this place offers better things than burgers.High quality, prices in line.Good choice of wines and dessert. We'll be back for sure.

Visited their when I was looking for something else than pizza and pasta and the decision was right. As I am still novice in Italian cuisine I cannot make the right choice of combination from the vast variety therefore I just chose from the recommendation list and it was super. Delicious but very economical, the size is more than enough, but you just can't stop eating. Place is spotless clean, and run by lovely family. I definitely can recommend and will go back there again.

If you are looking for a special setting, plenty of charm, with many candles lights to surround you while having a good dinner, with a beautiful view, in an old and beautiful house, you might want to come here. Owner and staff very friendly will do everything to welcome you and improve your stay, as they did with us. Highly recommended

If you are travelling near Milan, you can easily find this restraunt. The choice of plates is not so big, but the speciality of this place is risotto. You can try tris of risotti, or choose only one. I have tried risotto with porcini mushrooms, it was good, but i did not like that they added the oil with taste of truffel. It gives to risotto a different taste. The rest of food is good, company style. The plates are enormous.

With over 500 âexcellentâ reviews and a smattering of âterribleâ my husband and I felt safe in choosing Locanda Garibaldi as a new dining location. Usually in these instances the few outlying bad reviews relate to very specific eventsâ¦a customer felt slighted, the kitchenâs timing was off, the chef perhaps had a rare bad night, etc. However, I really wish we had read through the bad reviews (in Italian) because many of them have common elements, which perfectly capture our night as well.Menu (or lack thereof)There is no menu, and the owner Giuseppe comes over, sits down at your table, and basically suggests what youâll have. (Note: My husband is Italian, and I speak Italian. I have no idea how this process would work with non-Italian speakers!) When asked for details about certain dishes, Giuseppeâs response (in a jovial way) was, âitâs delicious; donât you trust me?â I didnât feel in control at all over my dish selection; however, due to the positive reviews, I felt safe that Iâd probably like what arrived.Food quality/priceIn fact, the food is good, but definitely âcasalingaââ¦think more âGrandmaâs cookingâ rather than âcontemporary cuisine.â Thereâs absolutely nothing wrong with a good home-style dish, but I donât think it warrants the prices charged. In regard to pricing, that too seemed very informal. Without a menu, you canât be certain that your bill wasnât influenced (positively or negatively) by how well you clicked with the owner.Service(This is THE âmake or breakâ element.) As mentioned in other reviews, the owner Giuseppe makes a point to sit down and chat with his customers. And, in fact, after we had finished our meal, Giuseppe returned to our table, sat down and proceeded to talk for at least 20 minutes! By the time he was finished, it was getting late, and we decided to go. I felt what could have been a quiet evening with my husband turned into a table for three.I fully concede that many of the positive reviews are based on exactly the âfriendly and warmâ demeanor of the owners. So Iâd say if youâre the gregarious type who loves (extended) banter with your host, this may be your place. If, like us, you prefer friendly but reserved service and straightforward selection and pricing, I would not recommend Locanda Garibaldi. I wish Giuseppe well, and I appreciate his passion for his work, but this just wasn't our type of place.
