Were I not with a Spanish speaker, my experience may not have been exactly the same. So for the non-Spanish speaker, bring your translate app and a sense of culinary adventure. The food and experience we had here was the best we had in Spain, so good we came both nights we were in Valladolid and we bought gift certificates for friends we know in the area or who will be visiting the area soon. Reading through the reviews, I see that on busy nights this place is probably noisy but the two nights we were here it was very quiet as the crowds were small. It is in a cave underground and so while that presents a really unique, charming environment, it's tough to manage the noise leve. The amount of creativity and care that go in to the food preparation and presentation were incredibly impressive, right down to the Steak Tartar prepared table side to our particular tastes. In speaking with Emilio, one of the partners, he indicated their desire to serve less people than be overwhelmed with massive crowds It's refreshing that someone in the business feels this way because too much business stresses a restaurant. This is a place for foodies but not food snobs. The service we received was exactly what we wanted, not intrusive, not rushed, just professional and polite. The prices represent an exceptional value for the quality of food.

"Restaurante Maria" is the result of many years working in the kitchens. A combination of tradition and innovation in a kitchen based in local and typical products of the region. A nice place to meet with friends and enjoy a good meal. A pleasure for the
We had the lunch menu del dÃa in this restaurant and the food was good but nothing out of the ordinary and for the price I think it could be better you can get equally as good food in other establishments for less money but it has good staff and a nice environment¡Goodmorning! thank you for your comment, because with your opinion we can improve it. Pretty good wine list although on the expensive side.I ordered a couple of bottles to write my name on the label, to come back tomorrow to finish the bottles. A 2004 Vina Tondonia Reserva Blanco from Rioja was kept in the wine fridge "red wine department", so it was 17 degrees when poured. Disappointing that the person in charge of the wine do not show more respect to a wine like this. I got a bucket of ice so eventually the wine got down to the correct temperature.A 2011 El Puntido reserva from Rioja was a super wine, served at the correct temperature. An ok glass of 2014 MR Mountain wine from Telmo Rodriques, was also from the "red wine department" in the fridge and served to how - how sad and disrespectful... The wine is DO Malaga, but is actually from Competa close Frigiliana east of Malaga. Burrata was a super starter and the cannoli with mushrooms, foie and truffles was equally super. Desert was a good - Japanese style with fresh acidity.Good service and atmosphere. Please move the white wines to a cooler place and if You have not got enough space at the ideal temperature, them keep the bottle in a normal fridge. Then they will quickly warm up when at the table...

We spent a long weekend working our way through half a dozen of Valladolid's recommended restaurants such as Martin Quiroga (modern, cool vibe) and Jero (loaded crostini with interesting toppings like foie gras with caramel). However, of all, El Consejero del Rey was simply the best. It's far from the cheapest place in town, but the prices are more than justified by the simply delicious food and incredibly warm service. We had a large plate of foie gras with cream cheese, croutons and a kind of caramel crisp to start and traditional, roast suckling lamb with a light tomato salad for mains (see pics). Nothing complex or revolutionary, just fantastic ingredients treated with respect. They have outdoor seating on a quiet side street, as well as a mezzanine dining room on the inside.Would recommend booking in advance as this place gets popular.

We were eight persons´group with two children. The restaurant looked very simple and even rough, but we decided to have dinner. We really did not disappoint. The starters carpaccio de ternera and ceviche were excellent. The same was with the main coourses: taco de solomillo, pescado temporada (atun) and suprema de pollo. Also we liked offered wine-Ribera Crianza. I honestly recommend this Place if you do not necessarily want to go to a fancy restaurant.

Nice setting, Great service. Interesting menu with surprising tastes and presentation. The service staff is also a chef and partner of the restaurant, always nice to have someone talk about the food with passion and knowledge.

In the area on business , looking for somewhere to eat and saw a high rating in trip advisor . Shares a starter which was a ball of avocado in a nacho crumb with jalapeño mayonnaise . The Mayo was lovely and the balls were okay. Me and colleague orders pulled pork burger , came with sweet fries I hate those he liked . Burger was lovely and only 8 euro . Couple of beer plus food was inexpensive and enjoyable . Was quiet in the restaurant , no English menu but worth a look in , not huge but good location

As the first restaurant in Valladolid to offer pizzas from a real wood-fired oven, Niza has been welcoming clients through its doors since 1989. Italian food and excellent pizzas are the mainstay of this restaurant, although there are plenty of alternativ
