Setting had no warmth. Stark with very bright lighting. Found food rather bland. Tasting menu uneventful. Staff pleasant. Wine choices did not pair

Sometimes, the best travel experiences are those you do not plan. We were staying in an apartment near Locanda della Regina and the restaurant we planned on was closed. We walked another block and found the Locanda. One of the owners was preparing for the restaurant to open but took the time to explain the menu to us. He was so nice and showed so much passion for the dishes being created for that night that we could not resist. Fresh porcini mushrooms were available so we had porcini fritters and pasta with porcini for the appetizer and first course. For the secondo, we had the branzino with potatoes and olives. I have eaten branzino in many restaurants in Italy and the U. S. and this was the best. The food was great, but there was more. Our waiter, Mimmo, was magnificent. The owner, Ettore, came to our table frequently to talk with us. There was a large party at the next table celebrating a birthday. They talked with us. Everyone made us feel like part of a big family. Each day afterwards, we would walk past the restaurant and Ettore and Mimmo would come out and talk to us. We became their neighbors. On our last night in Torino we had another fantastic dinner at the Locanda - antipasto of local salumi and cheeses, ravioli with pumpkin, cod with polenta, and fossone beef. It was incredible. There is not a printed menu because the menu changes each day based on what is fresh and available. This is what you want from a restaurant. Grazie mille and bravi to everyone at Locanda della Regina. You will remain in our hearts.

Just about everything was to like about this restaurant. Friendly service, a refreshing aperitivo, and some really unusual dishes. The Guviol egg was amazing (with the truffle shavings) and the blackfish ravioli was divine. Really happy to have found this place on Trip Advisor. I also found the prices more than reasonable, particular given the effort put into the dishes.

An enchanting location on the hills of Turin, Villa Somis is the set of à la carte restaurant of the Chef Guido Roncolato. His refined and balanced cuisine focuses on enhancing the quality of raw materials of the territory, respecting the great classics o
The restaurant is located in a beautiful villa art nouveau on top of the hill with a fantastic view of the city from the terrace and the park. The rooms inside have a wonderful decoration and it's almost like eating in a museum. Food is very carefully prepared and even if some ideas are on the "extreme" side the result is good. We chose one of the menus, which means you cannot choose but the chef decides food and wine for you. The whole table have to eat the same, which is a disadvantage because you have to find an agreement and you cannot share. The service is good. The price is not too high for what they offer.

We had a wonderful and romantic evening at this little hidden gem in Chieri, Piemonte. We were really surprised of the creativity and talent of the very young chef in the kitchen who made us both fully enjoy and laugh of his surprises from the kitchen! As important as the food was the absolutely marvelous service - we never experienced such a fantastic and responsive waiter before! A huge thank you to you both! Please visit Geranio - itâs really something special!

We recently visited Giudice for dinner with a friend who was visiting from the States. We had wanted to check it out because it's located very close to our home. My husband made reservations for my friend and I, however after the reservations were made, we convinced him to join us. When we arrived and said it would be 3 instead of 2 the host seemed to be irritated and got an attitude. After finding a table for us (it was not an overly crowded evening), it took awhile before we were waited on. The place is pretty standard. Nothing special about the decor or atmosphere. In fact it felt like the place wasn't completed ready for customers. The layout was a bit odd. The service was okay, but not at all friendly or welcoming. The food was okay. Not memorable in any way, certainly not up to the standards of so many other area establishments. I'm being generous with the Average rating. We may or may not go back. I kind of want to give them a second chance - perhaps they were having a bad night. But with so many other places available, I doubt that we will take the time to visit again - even though we drive by everytime we leave our villa.
