A group of work colleagues went for lunch, but we ended up getting a lesson in both wine and food from the Piemonte region of Italy. Over approximately three hours, we enjoyed multiple courses of pasta, meats, and seafood all paired expertly with a local wine. The owner acted as our tour guide and made the meal even more special.

My husband takes me regularly to the Candia lake since his parents live closeby, I always ask him to take me for diner or lunch to la Barcaccia when we go there! Roberto the owner has been able to create a very nice ambiance in this restaurant that is located on a beautiful spot on the lake side. Typically a place where people like to go for weddings and other celebrations! The restaurant remains simple, the decoration is warm, the food is very good and the pricing extremely fair! Roberto always brings some spumante and a little extra at a very low cost: he also has a good collection of tasteful wines for fair prices again, he is a good advisor and it looks like he is living in his restaurant, he is always there! One should try the excellent veal meat on a hot stone! It is one of my favorite dishes, there is really too much to eat!!Buon appetito!

We are regulars at Castello di Pavone. Its one of the oldest castle-hotels in Europe and the food and service is friendly and very good. Food keeps getting better each time, you can tell these guys continue to try hard. Ask for one of the rooms in the old section or the tower, they are awesome!
