I'm once in a month on the way form Italy to France through the Frejus tunnel since 10 years.I stopped eating sad panini in Autogrill as soon as I discovered this Pizzeria. Pizza Margherita is a cheap classic (I usually eat two of them), but there's a really long list for any taste. Don't forget to try typical napolitan sweets as the sfogliatella. Be careful it can be very crowded and noisy on friday and saturday night, with loud music.

I have eaten at this restaurant / pizzeria on literally tens of occasions and have always found the quality of the food to be excellent â whether it's the full works (antipasto + primo + secondo etc. etc.) or just a 'pizza and a pint'.The cuisine has a southern Italian flavour, and is noted locally for the variety and quality of its fish and seafood dishes. However, I have eaten meat dishes here on many occasions and have never been disappointed; and nor have I been with any pasta dish I have ever been served here. The pizzas here are excellent, with a wide choice of toppings â and as you would expect are baked in a wood-fired oven. The wine list is very good and offers very good value: They have very inexpensive house wines; a decent selection of good and 'fine' Piedmont wines as well as an interesting selection of regional, often southern wines. I have never been disappointed with the wine served here and have never thought that I've overpaid in any way.The chef's / pizzzaolo's 'specials' are usually excellent quality and relatively inexpensive, but even going á la carte in my experience always represents good value. The staff are hard working, polite and attentive, and will serve you quickly. If you don't wish to be rushed you just have to let them know and they will always comply. The boss works hardest of all is and is very professional and courteous. There are a couple of downsides: Like the majority of restaurants in Italy, this restaurant is rather brightly lit and can get rather noisy. This is also true of the 'couples' annexe' â a room which presumably has been designed for a more romantic dining atmosphere. The restaurant is situated next to and industrial area and is in a nondescript shopping mall. In the summer they put tables out in the mall itself. The restaurant is a stone's throw from the Avigliana Est motorway exit and has ample parking.Highly recommended.

(visited at least other 3-4 times, last one the 24 -08-2012) We (me and my wife) are recurring customers. We brought here parents and friends for good dinners at reasonable prices and everyone was always satisfied by the service [5/5], the environment[4/5], the kitchen[5/5], the wines[4/5] and the price [4/5].They have a fixed menu (I already covered it in a previous review): huge and good with an excellent quality vs price ratio [vote 5/5].But they have also quite alluring choices of the day (always changing and now - since june 2012? - including also some fish based dish). We appreciated very much the following dishes[all 5/5]:* salmon tartar - juicy and well prepared with lemon slices, salad and black and red salt* fondue with black truffles - simply irresistible* black pasta with cuttlefish ink served with shrimps and lemon - with the only drawback of being too small* porksteak gaelic style - with wiskey flavour, truly water-mouthing* mixed fried fish - including a lot of different fishes (and not only shrimps & squids as it is served in many places) and served in a aluminum foil basket* Irish cake - similar to tarte tatin with the addition of berries* baked cream (panna cotta ) with saffron - one of my preferred!and if you are lucky, we suggest you also to try the following wine (that sadly is not always available):Pfefferer 100% Golden Muscat - a very alluring white dry wine as aromatic as the grapes it cames from...(and remeber to keep the room for some drinks... as at the end the meal they offer you - free of charge - at least 3-4 spirits)

Restaurant located in a medieval castle close to Turin.
This place is in Sant'Ambrogio, just uphill from the church of San Giovanni Vincenzo, near the beginning of the gravel-and-cobblestone hiking path called the Mulattiera that winds steeply up to the Sacra di San Michele. But as far as we could tell there were no signs for the restaurant, which is housed in the repurposed ruins of an ancient building (an abbey? a castle? we couldn't tell either). The interior decor is a very tasteful minimalist chic. The food was modern upscale italian and was excellent. And the prices were very reasonable given the quality of the food -- although we were there for lunch, so the dinner menu is probably more expensive. Service was friendly, unobtrusive, and unhurried -- in short, also excellent. We were there during winter, but during warmer weather the restaurant opens an outdoor bar and tables on several terraces and balconies with great views of Sant'Ambrogio and the Susa Valley. This place is truly a hidden gem in all senses of the word. And if you can find it, then you are truly a gourmand and a cognoscenti -- perhaps even a member of the Illuminati !

This is a great family restaurant tucked away on the main road of Avigliana. It is run by a husband and wife team who are extremely friendly. The food is excellent but there is sometimes a bit of a wait as dishes are prepared upstairs and brought down stairs. The pizza's and the sea food are amazing. It is also good value for money. You will find many of the locals having dinner in this restaurant.

This restaurant looked closed but we rang the bell on the advice of two local residents. So glad we did. There were six of us, including two children, and the food was excellent, the house wine very nice, the setting charming and very elegantly set for lunch. The service efficient and warm. Would love to come again, and again....I agree with other reviewers that the antipasti is delightful if you want a light lunch, otherwise it is well worth ordering the degustation menu. A hearty bowl of pasta might also help you to get up the mountain to see the monastery! The town of Avigliani is small and charming.
